2014's star performers @Riteishd @Nawazuddin_S @Varun_dvn @shahidkapoor on CNN-IBN's Actors Roundtable: Coming soon!

Being a Varun fan. I am happy to see him on there. Truth said he was appreciated for both roles by general critics and people especially HSKD which got great reviews from harshest critics yeah but nothing extra ordinary like Haider.

Sorry no offence butVarunDhawan there makes no sense to me. None of his performance in two mediocre content based films was outstanding. I guess its like who is in city, lets call them funda. But great forhim as being there in such early stage of career.

Other 3 are deserving and I also think Randeep Hooda or even Tahir Bhasin wpuld hv been better there. Oh I forgot theyare not stars with grand surnames from industry. They gave standout performances to make the audience believe whts the character is abt.

Main reason is Badlapur is around the corner which promises good performance hence this decision was made. Last year they Vidya Balan (Ghanchakkar) over Sonakshi (Lootera) and same with this year Parineeti over Kangana. Yes I knw its about availabilty of actors and as you said its combination of good performance with bo collections and not only abt being part of crtically acclaimed projects. So may be thats why Varun Dhawan was callwd, but main tera hero as a film did not have anything to offer to any actor imo, good he is apprecaited fr that too. I do not hate your fav or rather any frankly , and I have said same few daysbck when parineeti was called. But I guess this industry and its laws are beyond my comprehension. Great all these people are called.and yes star performers but Nawazuddin is more known as an actor and Ritesish is a star? News to me.

Okay so i like VD and all, but why is he up there again? MTH and HSKD were average performances.

i know mth and hskd weren't heavy content films but they were performance based...if the acting wasn't strong those films couldn't have gone anywhere...varun did give strong performances in both...agreed that randeep probs should've been there though...happy varun's there though..good encouragement

Interesting. Would have liked to see Randeep there as he had a Highway and a Kick in place of Nawaz (who only had Kick) or Varun. But I really enjoyed HSKD and MTH - I thought he carried the latter one by himself really well and clicked with the crowds. Even Humpty was appreciated a lot and both did substantially well at the BO.
