Raman was no exception to that universal dikat. His heart flipped over a million times watching his angel making inroads with her brother at Shagun's Mehendi and now at the wedding. He was stepping off the stage, shadowing his wife when he saw his adorable daughter holding her brothers hand and smiling at him. She was taking him to meet her friends Shravu and a couple of other kids that were around Vandu and Bala.
His wife had held him on stage and danced a very private dance! She seemed to have eyes only for him. He was certainly going to have a word with right away and looked for a quiet corner in the crowded banquet. He held her waist and cornered her when a frantic Mihir had waved to him from a distance. Alert Bhalla was back and his eyes first scanned for Mihika. Not finding her anywhere near himself of Mihir he tried calling her. She was not answering and that was enough for him to see red.
He saw Adi and Ruhi still with Vandu and Bala and texted Bala to stay with the kids till they -Raman- Ishu, Mi-Mi got back to fetch them. Mihika had last contacted Ishu when she informed her that was at the hotel's honeymoon suite setting it up for Ashok and Shagun. Shagun was bursting through the door when Raman, Ishu and Mihir reached the suite. Mihika was on the bed with her clothes in complete disarray. Shagun saw Ashok's sherwani on the bed next to Mihika and Shagun freaked out calling Ishita and Mihika names while she insisted that it was all Mihika's making. Ishu ran to gather her sister while Raman tried holding Mihir back and looked around feeling helpless. Mihika came around briefly, stood up from the bed, when her eyes searched for Raman. Raman walked to her as Ishu and Raman stood flanking Mihika on either side. " Jeeju mera phone..." she whispered into Raman's ears...Raman grabbed it when they saw Mani walking with an Injection kit to draw blood from Mihika who was obviously drugged.
Shagun raged at Mihika calling her cheap. Mihika was no mans fool she had some dirt on Ashok. But Ashok was a seasoned cheat together Ashok, Param and Suraj were invincible that night. Although Raman and Abhi knew more than anyone else in the room, had to retreat because Ashok play hookie and appeared a victim to the press that was gathered. They had to remain calm for Mihika. Ashok won it all ! His marriage to Shagun was not going to happen, he had defamed Mihika, and right under Raman Bhalla's nose. There was nothing more he could get from the move he chuckled happily with this drinking buddies.
Shit had hit the celling...and it came crashing down on poor Mihika. "Her heart was in the right place Ishitha she underestimated Ashok and all my warnings ..it's really my fault" he growled in guilt. " "No way Raman" mumbled Ishita later to him in the confines of their room.
Adi and Ruhi were still with Vandu and Bala and the other kids when Ashok called the attention of everyone who had gathered there and asked them to enjoy the party as the wedding had been postponed. Ruhi and the rest of the kids were taken away. While Adi stayed on.
It was a bittersweet moment for Adi he knew that Ashok never intended to marry his mother but had resigned to it seeing his mother's happiness. He saw her stoic in front of the crowd. After the world faded away Shagun trained her blast on Mihika and Ishita for plotting to ruin her life. Mihika who walked looking meek explained to Shagun that Ashok was a bad man. Shagun would have nothing of it. She screamed at Mihika and Ishita, for pretending to be a friend while back stabbing her.
Mihir asked her get real while he moved to support a sobbing Mihika. Adi moved to silently with tears streaming down his cheeks, held a box of tissues out with his bandaged hand. While Simmi sat broken at her husband's act.
Adi reached Mihika.
Tsunami had struck
And Shagun did not even notice her son moving to Mihika while she continued talking into the Tanushri's mike.
