Geet: Mom... I don't want to be committed until I complete my studies... you already know that and I have already told Maan too

This is when Maira entered the kitchen

Maira: Can I have a word with Geet, Ranoji

Rano went back to where khurannas were sitting

Geet blinked her eyes as if waiting for her to say more

Maira: Actually Maan send me here. And when I came here I knew the reason... Beta Maan has no problem in continuing your studies. He understands and is ready to give space... Even me and Ram have no problem if you continue your studies. U are like our daughter... but Beta u try to understand after when you are done with your studies, u will establish your career... you will need a partner...then why not now... If you like him then somewhere later in life you will only want to marry him...Maan only send me here to ask you whether you are comfortable...Beta...If you are hesitant to be committed then we will only do the engagement and then only when you are comfortable we can move forward with marriage... Geet thought that she offended her mother in law when she was about to leave

Geet bit her lip

Geet had her eyes down cast

Maira moved closer and kissed her forehead

Maira: Koi baat nahi Geet...I am happy...

Geet wanted to clear the air now... she wanted to say that her thoughts had changed somewhat for him...

Geet: It not that I don't like Maan... its just that its happening very soon... I wasn't prepared

Maira: Take all your time... just tell Maan about that... though I think Maan will be hesitant at first as far as I know as he has accepted u whole halfheartedly and will want marriage soon... I know since I am his mother and I am well aware of him...

Maira grinned a bit

Maira: But I think he will be willing to wait for you... liken when u will be over with your confusion then you will be the one to say that get me married to him immediately

Geet smile and blushed at that point... showing that she agrees

Maiar bought Geer along with her and made her sit with Maan

Maira: Look Ram they are looking adorable with eachother

Ram: Yes they are very much complementing eachother

Rano and Mohinder smiled too

Geet looked up and saw that pride in her parents eyes.. It was like they just wanted that.

Geet(selfthought): I don't know the answer abhi tak... Kya wo yahi hai... but just looking at my parents I can be assured that may be he is the one... May be God has destined us together that is why everything is happening so fast

Geet got out from her thoughts on Meera'c comment

Meera: Kya baat hai... Bara hi classy couple lag raaha hai

Geet just glared first and then smiled

While the elders got busy in their talks yet again... planning for the ceremony to be held right now

Maan glanced towards her while she was looking down on her hands kept on her lap

Maan: Mujhe nahi pata tha..that you will say yes so quickly...itna dum tha meray interview mai... I wonder how many girls would have died hearing it

Geet's mouth turned in a perfect circle...

Geet: Oh hello... don't fly high in the sky... It wasn't your interview acha...

Maan: Phir to Maan singh Khurana ka Jadu hi kuch aisa hai (GHSP)... bus half an hour may hi...

Geet glared at him and then smiled.

After a few minutes Maan turned towards her and said

Maan: To be honest Geet I completely understand your position But the thing is I was searching for a life partner like you...when I talked to you... I knew you were the one...your thoughts are a bit childish but at some points where you need to be mature you are... you are determined, passionate about your career...and this is what I like about in a woman... Very few are like that... I always felt that my life partner should not be dependent on anyone... and by listening your thoughts... I guess I see you as that one...Abhi bhi If you don't want this to happen you can tell me... and I will refuse it...that is why I asked Mama to ask you...Atleast half an hour mai hum friends to ban gaye... So as a friend I am asking you...

Maan held her hand

Geet was overwhelmed at the sincerity of this man. What would a girl need when her small small wishes were given utmost priority...There was something different happening at the pit of her stomach...Her heart started beating more faster...

Geet bit her lip

Geet:Umm Maan... Maanji

Geet(selfthought): kya bolo

Maan: Yeh kia je Maan say Maan ji... ulta cycle chal raha...

Geet got embaraced and red hue crept on her cheeks while Maan smirked

Maan: Seriously Geet you don't need to change infront of me... I want a very transparent relationship just like friends have...so Maan ji choro... and you can call me Maan

Geet: Maan...wo I thought about it ... and I am okay...but I just need a little time...not too much

Geet replied reluctantly

Maan smiled happily

Maan: bus Geet... I just needed your confirmation and I got it..Now everything will happen according to you

Maan held her hand reassuringly... rubbing his thumb on the top of her hand.

That what all Geet needed

Maira: Bring the boxes

Kaka: yes ma'am

Maira came closer to Geet and sat beside her and held her hand

She bought out the bangal that she bought with her

Maira: Geet these are our khandani bangles...Ram mother's gave it to me when I am about to come to Khurana family and now I am going to give it to you...

Geet looked towards her mother

Rano nodded and smiled

Geet: Maa these are beautiful...so traditional yet classy

Maira: you like them

Geet nodded happily

Maan was mesmerisred by her beautiful smile yet again. It was as if he wanted this smile to last forever and in this way life will go easily

Maira: Rano ji... I only bought theses bangles right now... Engagement ki date set karlete hai... I wil talk to you soon about that...

Rano: Ji bilkul theek hai...bus Geet abhi kuch busy hai.. she has some tests regarding her admissions... once she gets done...engagement karlete hai...aap kya kehte hai

Mohinder: Bilkul theek hai

Mohinder asked Ram too

Ram: Bhabiji... jaisay aap ki marzi... now she is our daughter...

All nooded accepting

Ram: I think now we should go now

Mohinder: sit down for sometime more

Maira: Bus ji now we will come soon with the engagement rings

Maan and Geet stood up soon..

Maan just held her hand for a few moments... Like silently telling her abou meeting her soon.

And they bid bye

Rano: Today I am so happy...

Mohinder: Geet: You are okay with na

Geet: Dad... and she hugged him

Mohinder hugged her back lovingly and the kissed her temples.

Mohinder knew that he shouldn't be afraid now as his child was happy.

Note: Many of you were saying that Geet is a bit childish, this is being forced on her etc etc...

I just want to say that at this age when she is done with her graduation and she is still in her eduaction...girls can be bit childish and the propsal came all of a sudden when she didn't even think about it...so her behaviour is justified...inorder to get rid of marriage...

Also about forcing... I think one can not understand another person in one instant.. and when Geet never thought about it...so the confusion is there... she has her own insecurities...so she wants some assurance that her dreams will fulfilled or not... that is why...
