correctionRuqaiah was longest serving padshah begum of Mughal empire more than 50 yearsJehangir did not take away her title after his dad death tooit may not be given in jehangirnama, akbarnama etc but there are letters written to her by ambassadors referring her as padshah begum in library and also her farmans issued as padshah begum. If you have access to online international museum's library the farmans are available. Majority of these farmans were stolen from Mughal library by british officers and sold later to museums. See the Mughal preferred sisters and daughters usually to be padshah begums as they could be trusted blindly to stay loyal to the emperor compared to non related wives. And ruqaiah was a timurid princess and cousin sister of Akbar and was the padshah begum and akbar trusted her blindly too. There is a difference in NR of serial and real life ruqaiah.

Would love to read these farmans. I have just started reading up about this so I am no expert but According to the book " Edicts of the Mughal harem" the only 2 women in AKBAR'S time mentioned who could issue farmaans are Marium Makani and MUZ.Thanks,
