He sounds sarcastic and condescending towards Varun.

Maybe he has a playful rapport with Varun and perhaps Varun will take it in stride. Actually I think Varun will do that no matter what Salman's intentions were.

I don't think it's condescending in any way. He just said he's surprised, Varun has attempted this already. The film looks good. A joke about beating his dad. And that's happy for him 😕 Salman is extremely close to Varun for so many years, He's tweeting out in his support from what I see. 😆
