Happy ending
Confirming this Aman Khanna, executive producer on the show says, "Yes it is true that the show is coming to an end. The channel recently told us about this development. I think it's the best time to wind up the serial, as the story is anyway coming to a logical conclusion."
When asked how the show would end he says, "It will be a happy ending for sure. Right from the beginning, Kareena (Kulraj Randhawa) has gone through lots of ups and downs in her life. She has struggled and fought, and even told lies to try and make things possible for her. But now as the story draws to a conclusion, she will eventually get everything she has strived for. We want the audience to smile and feel good in the end."
Gone haywire
The show started around October last year and did wonders for the channel. But midway, the storyline went haywire and the ratings didn't exactly look good.
There was buzz that the show would come to a premature end. Khanna says, "Doing a daily, that too with a comic edge, isn't easy. In spite of whatever obstacles we faced, I can proudly say that the show has still retained its spark till the end."
Not a dead-end
However apparently this isn't going to be a dead-end for the show. There are talks of Kareena returning to the screen sometime next year with a second season.
Admitting that the channel is in the working stages for a possible new season, programming head, Ashwini Yarde says, "Yes we are looking at chances of bringing Kareena back. It's too early to speculate, as we are currently working on a storyline where Kareena is married and settled."
When asked about her take on the show's performance, she says, "Kareena Kareena has always been a show very close to us. We wanted to give it a break now as there is no point in stretching and dragging the story for too long. After the show ends Saath Phere will most likely take its place."
