Tsunami strikes!
Part 1
Raman headed back to his office still leafing through the papers that Mihika had thrust into his hands. An eclectic bunch, some scraps from what looked like a board game, few cards, some small sweet smelling notes and some photos too.
A few things dawned on him as he ran up the stairs. He knew very little of Ishita. Hidden under her kapdon ki than was a vivacious, curvy, naughty masti khor hot blooded woman. She was always the source of strength to her family especially her aging parents but he learnt today that she was the one who also spread sunshine.
Till her heart broke!
He had always seen her gulp her tears, Ruhi unfailingingly brought a smile on her face.
She mended his broken heart and now he would make her alive he swore to himself.
He fondly rubbed his fingers over her list of fantasies. Called Mihir to go over with him to his favourite designer and he picked up a pretty aquamarine gown for his wife. " Sir do you think this would fit your wife.." "Absolutely" he smiled wickedly looking at the dress and imagining it on Ishita. "Please put together some earrings to go with this off-shoulder dress" he asked. He decided they should steal the thunder at Shagun's pre- wedding cocktail that evening.
He had the dress delivered home. Mihika was instructed to reach the venue with Mihir while Ishita decided to change in her clinic and meet Raman at the venue.
Adi had a helper deliver his outfit for the wedding rituals. His mother had met him once briefly over the last 1 week while she was completely in the dark about what had happened to him. He hated that Ishita had kept track of him and his feelings through Mihika and Mihir. He was fearful that the kidnappers were still at large, had a nagging feeling that Ashok had kept his mother in the dark about he actual gravity of the kidnap. Everytime he thought of that he thought of how Ishita hugged him close to protect him from the trashing she took and that confused him. She hated his mom!
Raman at the party, was furious when he saw the gift that he had got his wife on his ex-wife. Ishita walked in looking divine in her traditional outfit. But that did nothing to Raman's disappointment. He was stiff when he danced, warmed up to her later though, watching her glee as she grabbed his hand when Ashok proposed to Shagun on his knee.
She put her cheek on Raman's shoulder and said " I can't let others see what you see Raman" she whispered.
"What"
" My scars" she said suggesting at lot more than she let on!
" and you don't need to follow the dress code" he said tightening his arm around her waist touching her forehead with his.
She skipped the dinner Raman stayed back to chaperone Mihika after ferreting her out range anytime Ashok got within shouting distance. He lost interest in the place handed Mihika over to Abi and Mihir and made his way out.
His wife was a visual treat for him when he reached home, she shocked him with her raunchy 'pole dance' with out the pole on his kitchen counter and dining table. He was all flushed when his parents walked in on the couple and Ishita vanished.
Mihika called him when he was preparing to attack his JKR. He cursed her under his breath, left his sanctuary. They had plans to make.
Adi heard his mother talk of how nice the party was and how the papers the following morning would carry "Ashok papa and her pictures".
She forgot to ask if he had taken his antibiotic while Ishita had written out instructions for Mihika to change the dressing on his shoulder before she had left for the party.
Adi surely saw the newspaper the following morning there were 3 pictures of his family. Ashok and Shagun together, Ashok- Shagun , Mihir - Mihika Raman- Ishita and others on the dance floor. There was another picture of Ashok on his knee proposing to Shagun and Raman and Ishita in the periphery. Raman's hand firmly clasping Ishita's hand and his eyes cheerfully looking at his wife and the other free hand protectively over her back perhaps covering a plaster?
Adi's stomach churned in disgust when he saw that it was Mihika that was in Ashok's line of vision and not his mother. He hoped she would see what he saw in the picture!
