I loved this and I can't wait for the next chapter!

Thank you for reading! 😳 Let's see what happens for ARI. Maybe he'll get to know about the twin... Maybe not.. 😆

Stay tuned! <3

But in ALL these months, didnt Sanam mention to Aahil that she had a twin? She is very mysterious!

Hi Mandy!
Yes, why does it keep happening to him?? 😆 Yeah, I guess she's mysterious! I wanted her to be like that😉

Part 8 - Awkward Misunderstandings

* * * *

The morning after, Aahil had managed to turn up at Sanam's doorstep. He hadn't even got much sleep due to nagging feeling running through his veins.

The first thing he did in the evening was to take the car and drive toward her place. He needed answers. He needed them right now.

Aahil knocked on the wooden colored door and waited impatiently for her to open. Never in his life did he feel like this.

Empty of thoughts and wanting answers.

A few minutes later, the door was swung open by a beautiful woman.

"Hey." Sanam smiled.

"Where the hell were you last night?" Aahil snapped, stepping inside not wasting any second to get the answers.

Sanam blinked slightly and didn't notice the sudden change in his deep voice which mostly sounded gentle around her.

"Well, hello to you too," she said closing the door after him.

"Answer me, where were you?" he snapped once again turning around to face her.

"What is going on, you sound upset?" She reached out for him, but he took a step back.

"Just answer the question!"

She could feel his dark eyes boring into her soul. But she didn't know why?

"Would you please calm down and lower your voice for a second? I was home? - Why?"

He shook his head, staring into her eyes. "Don't lie to me! I don't like getting played, alright. Tell me where you were last night?"

Sanam began to feel annoyed by the change in his body language.

"I just told you. What are you trying to imply exactly?" she narrowed her eyes.

"I think you already know what I'm implying." He said.

"I don't know what the hell is wrong with you, Ibrahim, but you better get to the point."

"Oh should I?" He took a short breath.

"I saw you last night with another man - that also with Rehaan. My brother!"

...Did he just accuse her for cheating?'

"With Rehaan? How is that possible? I was home. How can you see me with..."

Suddenly she realized what the problem was and how it had evolved.

Aahil narrowed his eyes studying her expression. "What's wrong? Was one Nawab not enough for you that you had to play both of us? Tell me, was it good? Being with us both?"

"You better watch it, Ibrahim!" Her eyes darkened at him.

"No can do. I like to know where the person I'm dating is, Miss Khan. And right now, I had no idea where the hell you were last night."

She crossed her arms staring at him with the same fire he had in his eyes.

"Wish I could say the same thing about you."

Aahil knitted his brows together. "You did your share on finding out about me - You asked Lateef."

"So I did. The score is leveled then. Besides, you could have told him to say these things for all I know."

"You know I would never do such thing, Sanam."

"Wouldn't you? I thought you wouldn't turn up at my doorstep to demand answers from me in such manner either. Well, guess what just happened?"

He closed his eyes for a second in pure frustration. "Sanam, you didn't answer my question."

Sanam crossed her arms once again. "Are you accusing me of cheating?"

Aahil ignored her statement. "Answer my question."

"No! You answer my question first. I repeat: are you accusing me of cheating?"

He licked his lips trying to read her eyes as best as he could. "I don't know. You tell me."

Sanam kept staring at the man. "You tell me, Aahil Raza Ibrahim. Yes or no?"

He inhaled a sharp breath. "I don't freaking know, alright. Now answer the damn question."

"Well then I don't know where I was last night."

Aahil clenched his jaw. "Don't play games. You don't want to see this side of me."

She shook his head. "What side? The jealous type or the man, who once upon a time had his way with words?"

Sanam was about to walk away, but he stopped her as he placed a hand flat on the wall.

"I didn't give you the permission to leave."

She met his eyes. "When did I ever give you the right to tell me what to do?"

"You did that night," he reminded her.

Slap! Her eyes widened slightly upon his words.

She felt like someone had slapped her across her cheek. Did his words really have such effect on her?

It was below the line. They had crossed each other's limits.

"Move away." She said in a low filled voice with a hard glare.

He stared down at her but moved away, giving her space enough to leave.

Sanam went on to get something and returned only to shove a picture frame into his hard chest. It was a picture of her and Seher.

"I have a twin sister named, Seher! You saw Seher with your dear brother, Rehaan. They are dating in case you don't know."

Aahil took a look down at the picture and couldn't believe what he just had heard.

"A twin sister?"

"Yes!"

"The person you saw was my sister, you jerk!" She pushed him out from the front door and closed the door at his face.

Sanam huffed loudly and closed her eyes.

Aahil blinked trying hard to comprehend the information he had just gotten. He stared into the picture in his hands.

A twin sister? Seher. He had heard that name before. Of course, Rehaan had talked about a woman he had been seeing for a very long time.

Did she just close the door at me - at ARI? Focus, Ibrahim! You have much important things to worry about!'

He suddenly felt like an idiot accusing her. He had been a jerk. He turned around and made his way toward the car and drove out from her driveway.

-----

That night they didn't call each other. They didn't approach each other either. Aahil knew he had made a mistake by behaving like this in front of her. She hadn't done anything wrong. He was the one who had messed up.

He went to work the very next morning like he used to. He tried hard not to think of the woman, but it was no use. He tried to maintain his focus on the few documents lying on the table but still his thoughts went toward her.

His thought were always interrupted by the woman who once showed up at his office wearing a white dress and a bag hanging over her arm.

He remembered the level of confidence he had seen in her from the very first meeting. It had him interested in her. He had to admit that he felt slightly intriguing as someone had stepped inside his territory.

It had already passed everything else and he knew she was someone special.

"I thought we were passed the first names, Mr. Ibrahim."

A light grin was visible on his lips. "Very well then, if that's what you want Sanam."

"It's what I want Aahil."

The Nawab groaned as he stood up and took a long look out from the window outside.

People were looking so small compared to the massive buildings around the streets.

He shook his head and knew he wouldn't be able to get any work done at this state. He called his secretary informing her to cancel all appointments for today. It was the only right thing to do - among others.

He reached for his car keys along with his phone and left the building to reach home.

He returned home 15 minutes later and decided to work out an hour in order to set his thoughts straight. It always managed to help him whenever he got stressed or had too many thoughts to think of.

He went on to change into more comfortable clothes as he was sure not to ruin in his expensive shirt and pants.

A few minutes later he was already down at his own personal gym and started to run on one of the treadmill. After been running for 5 kilometers, he decided to do some cardio training before quitting for today.

He went to reach for the weights and started to train. But before he could empty his minds completely, she was there in front of him.

Sanam grinned as she stared at the man in front of him. "Does the beast want to come out now? Because it's already eleven" she smirked slightly.

She was popping into his mind at the most random places of all.

Aahil growled slightly by pressure he was feeling both physically and emotionally.

He had never felt like this for any other woman before - so why now? What made him think of her so much? Of course he already knew the answer of the question.

Sweat started to creep at his forehead, feeling his white undershirt cling to his already build up physique. He dropped the heavy weights down onto the floor and took a few ragged breaths.

God damn it!'

Aahil stripped himself from the white undershirt as he walked out from the room shirtless. He went to the kitchen where he took out a bottle of water and took a sip from the cold water.

He placed it on the bedroom table and reached for his towel where his stepped inside the showers. A few minutes later he could feel the water run through his body - letting the hot steam relax his already tenses muscles.

His hands were flat on the white tiles and stood watching the water wash through him.

Sanam crossed her arms. "Are you accusing me of cheating?"

He tried hard to read her eyes as best as he could. "I don't know. You tell me."

"Well then I don't know where I was last night."

He inhaled a sharp breath. "I don't freaking know, alright. Now answer the damn question."

Sanam kept staring at the man. "You tell me, Aahil Raza Ibrahim. Yes or no?"

He came back from the flashback as his closed his eyes.

God damn it, Aahil, you have messed up big time!'

----------

Rehaan was sitting quietly in the living room watching TV. Suddenly he felt someone smack him across the back of his head.

His eyes widened upon the sudden contact.

"Ouch!"

"You deserve it!" a voice spoke from behind.

Rehaan turned his head around and saw his brother who stood with crossed arms across his chest.

"What was that for? What did I do?"

"For not letting me meet Seher." Aahil spoke before he sat down on the couch beside him.

Rehaan furrowed his brows at his brother. "Seher?"

"Yeah, if I just had met her than, I wouldn't be facing the problem I'm in right now."

"What are you talking about? I asked you a few weeks ago if you wanted to have dinner with us, but you had to cancel it at the last minute as you had an important meeting to attend."

Aahil ignored his statement. "I didn't know she had a twin sister."

"You lost me there, Bhai. I think your hit has damaged my brain cells."

Aahil wore a light scowl on his face. "I did not hit that hard, so stop whining."

Rehaan raised an eyebrow at him. "Wow! Talk about being moody, huh? Who has been turning you down lately?"

Aahil shot him a glare.

Rehaan cleared his throat lightly. "Anyway back to your statement. What's the problem?"

"Your girlfriend has a twin sister."

"Yeah, I know that. Her name is Sanam. But why are you bringing that up?"

Aahil let out breath before he took a glance at him from the corner of his eye. "Did you know that I'm dating her?"

"What? Are you dating Sanam? Wait a minute, is she the one who you were talking about a few months ago?"

"Yeah," he said and ran a hand through his hair. "And I've messed up."

"What happened?" Rehaan asked his brother.

Aahil told him what had happened between them and how he had accused her of something terrible. Oh, how he regretted it so much.

Rehaan couldn't help but shake his head.

"That wasn't the best step to take, Bhai. I mean, argue with a woman about such matters. You should never argue with women - there's no point."

Aahil raised an eyebrow while staring at him. "Rehaan Imran Qureshi, since when did you become so whipped?"

Rehaan rolled his eyes. "I'm not the person with relationship issues." He joked while wearing a grin.

"Do you want me to smack you across your head one more time?"

Rehaan ran a hand through his hair. "Nah, I think I'm fine."

He saw the state Aahil was in as he closed his eyes and leaned back into the couch.

"You know you could have at least talked to me first before storming off to her place."

"Ugh, you don't think I know that?" he said burying his face into his hands.

"Bhai, you got it bad - and it's a first!"

Rehaan reached out and touched his shoulder. "Go approach her again. I'm sure you can do something to make her forgive you. You've got to do extra work other than just turning on the charm of yours."

Aahil sat back considering his words for a short while.

A small smile began to spread across his lips. He stood up and ruffled Rehaan's hair before leaving.

"Thanks, Rehaan. I own you - and sorry about before."

Rehaan sat back with a grin and continued to watch TV.
