Nearly eight out any 10 actors and actresses in Bollywood are mannequins, which mean that they can look good but can't act. Shah Rukh Khan believes in the theory of "life begins at 40", as he's gyrating to the tune of "Chammak Challo". If money matters, Salman Khan rules the roost as he's got the biggest bragging rights in the Bollywood fraternity. He still reserves his place in the highest paid Bollywood stars' category in spite of being well over 40. But there are many like him who earn more than they deserve. This is a list of the top 10 overpaid stars in Bollywood.

10. Shahid Kapoor:

One of the highly overrated and overpaid Bollywood stars is Shahid Kapoor. It appears that Shahid doesn't know whether he is a commercial actor or the hatke actor. He still has to prove his credentials but this does not deter him from charging big bucks i.e. between Rs.10-12 crore per movie, as alleged. He made news till the time he was in a relationship with Kareena Kapoor.

9. Saif Ali Khan:

It is said that he demanded Rs.18 crore for the spy film Agent Vinod' - the Bond-like film. Rather than concentrating on his career, his focus seems to be shifting somewhere else may be on Mrs. Pataudi. Though he is quite popular in the advertising circuit, his acting skills are still doubted and so is his stardom.

Apparently Ajay Devgan charged between Rs.20-25 crore for the Rs.100-crore-grosser Son of Sardaar'. Although his box-office records are not bad, he still seems to be in reaping mode post major blockbuster Singham'. The sooner he realizes the star value, the better.

7. Hrithik Roshan:

He is a talented actor without any doubt or debate. His Greek-god looks, dancing abilities, well-built physique with an unmatched acting fetch him full marks as a star. But it seems he is being paid more than he actually deserves like his Rs.25 crore deal for Krrish 2' - a sequel of the immensely popular Krrish'.

6. Katrina Kaif:

Katrina Kaif is extremely good looking. She looks like an angle even without make-up. But why did she charge Rs.12 crore for Yash Chopra's last film, Jab Tak Hai Jaan'? Every now and then we see her frequenting the silver-screen. It is said that she's close competition to Priyanka Chopra, but in my view she cannot even remotely compared with the latter as we all know how Priyanka has proved herself time and again as an actress.

It is rumored that she charged somewhere between Rs.10-15 crore for Agent Vinod'. Unlike her more illustrious sibling, Kareena has not been praised for her acting abilities. Her Kapoor' connections surely help her climb the success ladder and this is why she is one of the most overpaid Bollywood stars.

Though he is popularly known as King Khan or the Badshah in Bollywood, in reality he is actually the most overrated actor of the industry. His fame and popularity is beyond imagination. He charged a hefty Rs.35 crores for the film Jab Tak Hai Jaan'. Though he is scaling down the Bollywood ladder, few underestimate him since he's that lion who once ruled the jungles of Bollywood.

3. Akshay Kumar:

Akshay Kumar equals the record of Aamir Khan as the former charged Rs.45 crore for his film Rowdy Rathore', which is exactly the same amount what Aamir got for 3 Idiots'. The fate of the two films has been very different, however. From being the highest paid actor with five back-to-back blockbusters in his kitty, Kumar may have stepped down from the coveted club but he is surely not the one who gives up so easily. Already being one of the overpaid Bollywood stars, Akki is all set to be part of the 100-cr club.

Our perfectionist hero monopolize in terms of take-home profits. It is reported that he shared 80 percent of the movie's profits from his film Talaash'. The actor took home a neat Rs.45 crore for the movie 3 Idiots', and so he is branded as the distant second in the salary sweepstakes. But his age is catching up and he cannot guarantee phenomenal box office successes, can he?

I figured Salman would be number 1.

The amount of money Salman brings for the producers its more than justified he gets the kind of high amount he asks for.

How are the Khans and Katrina undeserving? They are worth the money as they bring profit 90% of the time.

Now Shahid, Kareena, and especially Saif don't deserve what they are getting! It's not fair that Newbies are getting paid less than these flop stars.

Most of these are justified. The Khans especially are a brand in their own. No wonder they charge more. Happens in the music industry too(not Indian) with the huge stars.
