Sonakshi Sinha is a girl in love with the movies. That's probably why she is a picture of joy even while promoting her films " that too, when they are releasing back-to-back. This time around, it's Gordhan P Tanwani and Sunil Lulla's 'Action Jackson', after which, she'll be going full throttle with 'Tevar'. "I'm always up for this kind of hectic promotion," says Sonakshi, who is sporting a chic, new bob and has lost enough weight to make her detractors eat their words. Excerpts from our interview:

Why did you agree to do Action Jackson considering there are two other girls sharing screen time with you?
Frankly, I did this film because Ajay Devgn asked me to. We worked together in 'Son Of Sardaar' and he felt that I suited this role perfectly. My role has a comic side to it and I knew Prabhu Dheva Sir would do justice to it as a director. Besides, I was always curious about doing a multi-heroine project. Believe me, all three of us " Yami Gautam, Manasvi Mamgai and I have well-defined parts.

With your short hairdo and new wardrobe, you seem to have undergone a transformation of sorts...
I've wanted to cut my hair short for a while, but somehow, my hair has always been in the continuity of some film or the other. This time around, I found a small window where I could take the liberty to wear this short hairdo.
So, I just told my hairstylist to cut my tresses. I feel a lot lighter with this style and now, it takes me all of three minutes to blow-dry my hair. As for the wardrobe, well, if I have knocked off weight, then I need to change my style. Sabyasachi sir, who has styled me earlier in the Indian get-ups, had said that someday I must sport a western wardrobe in my movies. My clothes have been designed by Tanya Ghavri in this film. I like the way I'm looking in Action Jackson because I'm wearing the kind of wardrobe I wear in real life. Funnily enough, I did try western clothes in Joker, but no one recalls that because not many people saw me in that film.

You've been nicknamed masala queen and single screen favourite. How do you react to these tags?
I think it's a compliment. After all, I only choose to do films that I enjoy watching. I'm usually on the same page as the audience. The script has to grab me immediately. I ask myself " would I like to watch this film or not? If the answer is yes, I agree to act in the film. Even with an offbeat film like Lootera, I was very clear that I wanted to watch it. Hence, I did it.
