I'm highly impressed with Pakistani shows...i don't know what is happening in Indian shows...nothing at all...i have to say Pakistan has made a very positive impact on mind. What i hate about Indian shows is that they promote themselves as progressive when there is nothing more regressive than them. I have seen many authoritive husbands on Pakistani shows but i don't mind because they show reality. One of my friend complained on how narrow mind Zaroon was in ZGH and yet people like him...why? I think it's because 1) many wives can connect with such character becoz a character like Zaroon is as real as one can get. 2) its better to see a authoritive yet sweet romantic husband like Zaroon than see male characters who are first shown too be extremely irritable and moody but after falling in love just lose their backbone and forget all about work.
Pakistani shows include bold themes rather than bold scenes which is much needed in Indian shows.
This is kind of spoiler but i have got to say the ending of Badi Aapa was amazing...i saw it online and was surprised with it but found it justified...our shows don't have the guts to show main characters in negative light...they show them as the ideal woman though i consider them pathetic. Sorry i don't want to disrespect my country but i wonder if Pakistani shows has changed my thinking about Pakistan then what kind of image does our t.v shows make in foreign countries? It is something out t.v industry should be worried about

I m 95% agree with u...I alws watch Indian serials...I hv just started to watch Pakistani serials from last 2 months...I didn't even imagine it could b so amazing...😛
ZGH totally change my imagination...I like many of Indian serials...bt in most of d serials what it showed in promos first are later diverted from d story...and some twists they add in d serial r completely unrealistic...😡...they drag d story too much dat,it lasts upto 5 to 6 years whch is unnecessary...bt in Pakistani serials, they donot drag d story nd hv limited episodes and they come up with realistic story...😊

Pak shows have certainly helped in breaking the preconceived notions regarding the country. The lifestyle, the people there are more or less like us. It looks like a beautiful country and i have immense respect for their stars and the shows they make.
And TV industry here, well, there are some great actors and the shows do have a promising start but they lose the plot midway and make a mess out of the whole thing. Its been ages since i saw a Indian daily and i dont intend to watch any until there is something entertaining.

Pak shows have been a breather and some shows are extremely brilliant and showcase the reality of life and are very insightful. The Urdu language is beautiful. 😳

And thanks to Zindagi, i got to know about Fawad who i really really admire and respect now.😳

I agree with the topic maker. Pakistani shows have shown how very similar we Indians are to Pakistanis. There is too much in common. Zaroon and ZGH connect because you can find such people in reality. Indian shows create a poor impression of Indians for sure. Its embarassing to say the least.

True! Its the same for me. These shows have changed my views abt Pakistan a lot! Now i do respect them hugely for their art n calibre of their artists! Also, coming to Indian Shows, when we ourselves..the educated indians are not able to tolerate it..i wonder what kinda image thy potray abt us overseas...the over dramatisation looks almost comical! Honestly, its embarrasing for me as an indian... The only show i enjoyed on indian TV recently was 24..i felt that was very well done by Anil Kapoor Productions... We shd do shows on these lines..rather than do those saas bahu dramas n over scheming n plotting... Also coming to reality TV...i feel its now going overboard and the concepts r done to death!
KBC is still good as lomg as Amitabh is there...but rest of the shows have become very repetetive...
and the sob stories of the contestants..really get on my nerves!😡

In reality shows even stuff like 'I have to cook' is made into a tragedy. 😆

And the horrendous plotting and planning never ends in these saas bahu sagas. Most of the shows are all filled with utter rubbish. I dont think there is any proper watchable story. And it runs for years and years. The gaudy makeup, the romance is overdone so much that it becomes difficult to watch it around your parents. Its plain awkward. All these reasons have made me quit TV. I started watching it only after Zindagi went on air. Now my mum too enjoys watching the shows on Zindagi. They are any day better than the saas bahu sagas.

The worst is the importance given to consummation scenes in every show. Extremely cheap!

...very well said...n i guess ...the portrayal of the characters was so real that connecting to them came natural...and hence so much love for the Pak shows...
...and if we think that ...what we see in tv shows/movie ..is just the reflection of society then...i had to admit that ...after watching some of the shows...i really feel...that ...Pak people are much ahead...and i appreciate that...from bottom of my heart...❤️

Nice to see u here libs😛
yes pak shows are really good and what makes them better is the finite fiction concept...they have a story to tell, and they stick to it, becoz of fixed number of epis and also coz they complete shoot prior to the telecast (maybe thats changing, but most shows have had that way of execution)...so basically either the product in offering entirely succeeds or entirely fails...depends on how the audiences would lap it up...

and yes no long drawn consummation sequences and marriage sequences are a welcome change to watch👏 emotions are at play rather than never ending eyelocks and senseless falling, catching, duppatta flying stuff😵

++++++++++++
coming to our shows...there are lots of issues which hit the outcome of the shows - lack of transparency in trp counts, not much importance given to having quality direction in shows (I mean how many directors do we even recollect when we talk about TV?), even less importance to the writer...he has to twist and turn his script as per the demands of PHs and channels which in turn is based on what gives them trps...

what really is the problem with our industry is that the audience is accustomed to watching a show running for years and years...and thats something that cannot be changed overnight - leme say this, that many shows here start with a different concept too and one of the problems is the writers first let the story build up for 3-4 odd months and by the time they wana start with real story...since viewers dont show much interest in the concept, the writers and PHs resort to cheap, tried and tested paths...coz thats what gets the trps frankly🤔😵 how much do we blame the PHs and writers alone when the audience too is tuning in to watch the bakwaas...and shows like SNS and SSK will top charts...I mean what to say about that🤡

who is the real culprit here - PH? channel? viewers who only want to watch thrills and cheap drama? or a culmination of all the factors...

metro city viewers or 2nd and 3rd tier city viewers who are now exposed to cross border dramas - like pak shows or korean dramas or survived on good english shows - before pak dramas arrived here...who wish to watch sensible dramas, well written and executed concepts are hardly a miniscule percentage of trp audience...who I dont think the channels really care about...just some food for thought...
