I think the public has been preoccupied with her appearance for a while. She has a very beautiful face but she is petite and not a size 2. She almost always wears clothes that are very unflattering for her body type. Those bulky heavy saris overwhelm her petite frame not to mention that she usually maintains a very 70s and 80s casual hairdo. She always comes across as very confidant though and self assured so in that regard I say more power to her.
Karan Johar asked her how she feels about people criticizing her sense of style. Her response was "thank God I have a life." My only response to that is I don't think that she has no style and just doesn't care. I think the above look is her style, she likes it and works on maintaining it. Is it my taste? NO. But she seems very happy with it.
