Chapter 7(Abhay's POV)
Today was auction day at the casino. I needed Piya to stay at home. No one should find out she is with me. I looked at the catalog of items that were being auctioned. One was a diamond necklace, going at about 1 crore. I looked at my Piya. She was looking at my library with great interest. This necklace would look good on her. My goal was set on the necklace.
I turned my attention to Piya. She was on her toes, reaching for one of the books on a high shelf. I went over to her and lifted her up by the waist. She was startled, but she got what she wanted. She turned to me, hugging the book tightly.
"Thank you." She meekly said.
"Anything for you sweetheart. No need to say thank you. This is all yours." I lifted her chin up to me. Her cheeks were pink.
She had changed me. She gave my dead heart feeling. Like it was actually beating. Only for her. I have fallen for her. No longer was she a possession that I had to have. She was an inseparable part of me. If she were to be taken away from me, I would die once again.
She looked at me in a curious manner. I listened to her thoughts. Her mind was in a frenzy about her feelings. I caressed her rosy cheeks with my hands. Her baby brown eyes glinted with emotion, her pulse raced. Her every thought was known to me. I pulled her in for a kiss, but she moved back right before our lips touched. She diverted her gaze from me and walked away. She went into our room, clutching the book in her hands. I sighed to myself and dressed myself for office. I gave her all the love she could have wanted. But why was she holding back?
(Piya's POV)
Abhay gave me strict instruction to not leave the house while he was gone. I didn't want to leave either. Who knows if anyone would find me and take me back home. I got bored really quickly. I finished the book I was reading, and I watched some tv. But none of it was appeasing. Believe it or not, I was missing Abhay. He hovered around me 24/7, catering to my every need. I wanted his company. My heart raced on just thinking about him. It wanted him too.
I wandered the house, thinking and processing all the events that took place in my life. I found myself standing in front of the portrait that he painted. He made that just for me. Because he loved me.
I'd never fallen in love before. I didn't know what it felt like. Was it the reason my heart beat so fast on his sight or the sound of his name? Was it why he took care of my every need, without asking for anything in return, except that I stay with him? Was love the reason I couldn't stand one second without him? Was it why I knew he wouldn't hurt me, despite me knowing what he was?
If it was then yes...yes I am in love with you Abhay Raichand!
(Abhay's POV)
I went to the casino straight from my office. I haven't been here since I took Piya with me. Nothing had changed, except that employee. The one who stuck to Piya all the time. Kabir was his name, I think. He was glaring at me, while vigorously wiping glasses. I laughed to myself and then went downstairs.
I took my seat with some other gentlemen. Like me, they were eying the diamond necklace. But that was going to be mine. It was only meant to adorn my Piya. I stuck around till the end. The necklace was the last bidding item. The auctioneer carried it to the podium, and began calling out prices.
"The opening bid for this piece is 75 lakhs." He said.
"1 crore." I said.
The man next to me winked at me and shouted out 2 crores. I said three...and so on. His last bid was 9 crores. I said 10.
"Going 10 crores one! 10 crores two! 10 crores three! Sold!" He called out.
Angry men stomped out of the room grumbling to themselves, while I grabbed the necklace, writing a check for 10 crores. I started towards the exit when suddenly Kabir stopped me. I smirked at him.
"Where's Piya?" He said coldly.
"Somewhere safe." I said.
"I know you took her. Let her go."
"Why should I?" I said. His nostrils flared.
"Because you are holding her against her will. She doesn't belong to you." He spat. I grabbed his throat and forced him against the wall.
"She does belong to me! Her heart belongs to me!" I hissed. The beast inside me was itching to emerge. "No one can dare take her away from me."
"I've informed her family about this. Just wait till the cops get you. Then Piya will be free." He sputtered. "In fact, they should be arriving at your home shortly."
I tightened my grip on his throat, watching him gasp for air. Then my thoughts shifted to Piya. I would never gain her love if she found out that I killed her friend. I let go of him and rushed to the car. I called her...but there was no response. If they try to take her then they will see my wrath.
(Piya's POV)
I sat on the sofa, clutching a throw pillow in my arms and blushing. This love was a great feeling. Everything seemed new and exciting. But then something stopped that happiness. He was immortal. I wasn't. The only way to stay with him was to become what he was. A vampire. But if it meant eternal happiness, I would take it. My human life sucked anyways.
The doorbell rang sometime later. I hopped off the couch and looked through the peephole. My breathing grew heavy at what I saw. The goons. And Panchi, as well as mom. I backed away slowly from the door, sweat beading on my forehead and my breaths growing quick. They resorted to knocking loudly. I didn't open it. I rushed into the bedroom and locked myself in the bathroom. I prayed Abhay would get here fast.
I heard the door break open, the march of several footsteps coming my way. They knew.
"Girl, we are going to count till three. We'll break in if you don't come out."
I grabbed a bottle of air freshener and proceeded towards the door. It was the only weapon I had.
"1."
My hands were on the doorknob.
"2."
I turned it.
"3."
I threw the door open and sprayed the air freshener in their faces. It burned their eyes. I tried to push my way out, but Panchi grabbed my wrist.
"Where do you think you are going?" She twisted it. "You've hidden long enough!"
The goons gagged me and dragged me out with them. I tried to scream for Abhay. But nothing could be done now. They would surely do something to make sure I didn't run again.
"Abhay...please come." I said in my head.
(Some time later...)
I was put into the basement of the house. I hated it down there. There were rats and sometimes snakes, and it was dark. The bed wasn't even as good as my bed.
"You're not getting anything for two days. Your life will become a living hell." Mom hissed at me. She shut the rusty door behind her.
I cowered into a corner. All my strength was washed away with my tears. I could hear the rats scurrying about the room. What did I do to deserve this? I wanted to go to Abhay...I wanted him.
Mom came back, this time with one of the goons. He sauntered inside, ogling my body. I scooted backwards. He grabbed me by the hair and said...
"Why don't we have some fun tonight?"
(Abhay's POV)
My front door was kicked open and things were lying on the floor. And Piya was nowhere to be found. I pounded my fist into the wall, creating a large hole. They took her. And now they were going to pay. I picked up her scent and ventured out in the direction. I could sense her fear and sorrow. It was strong. I ran into the forest, with the death wish of her so called family.
"I'm coming sweetheart." I said, hoping she would hear me.
