Not In March
Fox Star Studios had announced that they were teaming up with Dinesh Vijan to make an adaptation of the Hollywood film The Fault In Our Stars to be directed by Homi Adajania. It was also mentioned this film would go on the floors in March 2015. Now it seems, that won't happen till the end of 2015.
Reason: The makers have signed Varun Dhawan and Deepika Padukone to play the lead pair, and the actors dates are proving to be a hurdle. Dhawan, who is busy with Badlapur and ABCD 2, will start shooting for his brother Rohit Dhawan's film in April, followed by a film for Dharma Productions. At the same time, Padukone has given bulk dates to Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Bajirao Mastani, from February-March, and will not be able to start work on this Hindi adaptation in early 2015.
Udta Punjab Pushed?
It was said that Abhishek Chaubey has signed Shahid Kapoor for his next, Udta Punjab. The director and actor have done sittings on the script but are yet to meet for final readings. Chaubey wanted the film to go on the floors by the end of this year but it seems that won't happen before the end of next year.
A source close to the actor reveals, "Shahid is currently shooting for Shandaar in Poland and director Vikas Bahl wants to complete the film in one schedule. After that, Kapoor starts Eros International's next Farzi to be directed by Raj-DK, which will go on the floors in January. The actor will start shooting for Udta Punjabonly after he is done with Farzi as the character is very intense and he wants to get into the character."
Chaubey has two choices - wait for Kapoor or cast someone else in his film.
