I agree that, according to the DKDM, Parvati is more advanced than Sati. Parvati has attained the understanding that Sati did not get. But I'm not sure yet if that's the case with the Shiva Purana. I haven't read the original text, but I have read Ramesh Menon's Shiva Purana Retold. It didn't strike me there that Sati was very ignorant; she was more of "being born as the daughter of an ignorant father". Hence Shakti shed her earthly body and demanded to be reborn as the daughter of an enlightened father.

But let's say Parvati is indeed more mature than Sati. To me, yes, maturity includes respect to husband/partner. But respect is not the same as subservient/submissive.

And this is my issue with the portrayal of Parvati in DKDM. Yes, there are many episodes where Parvati are shown to respect Shiva, nothing wrong with that. But there are episodes where she is shown to be submissive to him as well, and that does not sit well with me. Perhaps because I'm viewing this from the perspective of a modern woman. Perhaps I'm viewing this from the perspective of Shakti as Shiva's ardhangini... But the result is the same. I find it uncomfortable to see Parvati displaying submissive attitudes, which is to me different from respect.

Perhaps this is why some posters in the past have expressed their delight/agreement whenever Parvati went on rampage? Because then she became the powerful Shakti.

By the way, I also don't like the portrayal of Parvati on rampage in DKDM. I'm not talking about she becoming Kali. I'm talking about the way she's been portrayed when she was super angry (e.g. when Kartikeya was kidnapped as a baby energy, or when Vinayak was beheaded). She had the rights to be angry, yes. But her portrayal in DKDM is more of a manic anger to me, not divine anger. That does not sit well with me either.
