Manik was barely a teen when Dhruv's fits started, he too probably would have been shocked at that point but he learnt over the years how to handle him. it was a gradual process , not like here where suddenly he comes across a half-dead Cabir lying on the road. The shock is the most basic and immediate reaction. Still his reaction or whether he was capable enough to handle the situation doesn't influence Nandini's choices. She did what everyone should do, help the injured and save a life. It was for herself- she was staying true to who she is.
What happened between Manik and her is an entirely different matter and shouldn't influence the way Nandini Moorthy lead her life. like she said, just because she had a heart-break doesn't mean she will part with her goodness, innocence and her humanity.
