OK...Celebs are busy shooting for movies...have erratic schedules... are busy travelling the world...and alot of them dont have a steady partners....is this the best environment for a child to grow up in? ...I would love to know how much time these celebs actually spend with their adopted kids....

I had read quote by Angelina Jolie...'My friends often joke that everytime I go abroad, I come back with a baby'....I dunno about u but I dont think this is the right attitude...It just seems like she travels around the world picking up babies from differentcountries....they are probably like souvenirs for her.
this is taken from another debate, since this is also an interesting topic, i had posted it here instead of diverting from the original topic in the main post. so the question is, do you think celebrities adopting kids will work towards the good interest of the kid? with the reasons mentioned above in the quote, how far do you think this might be true or do you have more views? i am not trying to be judgemental here but it was kind of thought provoking at the same time and would love to have others input. i am trying to see it from different angles at this issue.

i think celebrities who adopt those kids have already acted in the best interests of that kid. they dont have to do any more for the kid for lifetimes. the kid will see life that very few people can even dream about. enjoying paradise without having to experience the inconvenience of first dying and going to heaven. 😊

It is very easy for us to question celebrities' intentions for adopting kids but whatever the reason may be those kids have got a better life now. I believe the smallest act of kindness is worth more than the grandest intention.

When I started on DM this was the hottest debate https://india-forums.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=433946 . Aparna_BD and others made some very good points. The thread was locked by Doc but please check it to refer.

I concur with CB, Maya & Raunaq.

parenthood is not an easy task. Who are we to judge celebrities adopting their children and being unable to spend adequate time, when we all know biological parents who need to spend more time with their children?

These children adopted by celebrities enjoy a life of much higher comfort. They also get better attention that they were otherwise destined to 😊.

It depends on the motive of the celebrity. If he he or she wants to really be a parent it is a wonderful thing. But I am not so sure that some of them are not doing it for the publicity and some seem to have kids confused with pokemon so they try to catch one of each kind...Gotta catch 'em all.

😆 😆 @ bold

In cases like Angelina Jolie, things like these do hold ground. With so many relationship problems, not knowing who comes from where, how are child being reared for? The mother who does not have time to feed her own self goes around the world picking up babies. Is that right? I don't think so.

But I agree with Maya, Raunaq, QT and all about them being given higher standard of life. As in Sushmita Sen's case, she has adopted one girl and that's it. She is rolling in the highest luxuries of life, much more than her biological parents could have ever imagined. Even if she is cared for by aayas, she is at least looked after and when the day ends, she gets to see her mother. Definitely better than what she would have got out of living in an orphanage!

I think adopting kids is in fashion with the celebs now..every other day I hear of new one adopting a kid. I dont know how many of them have really wanted to do so 😕

What they do need to understand is that its a life they are dealing with and everything they do is going to make an impression on the small minds. Its a big responsibility and as long as they can live upto it...it sounds like a brilliant idea. Their busy life and schedules might not enable them to spend so much time with the kids, but still just being there at times when needed and watching over the kid's growth will be more than what that kid might hope for.

For the kid of an orphanage, this is always going to be a trip to paradise. Better lifestyle, toys, food, clothes and education. What else would the kid ask for?
