There's been a lot of talk about Seher's character and how could she possibly do this as Asya's daughter and what kind of person would do all this for money. I have also asked that same question. I can understand and agree with those who say what Seher is doing is clearly wrong and there's no justification. HOWEVER, while there isn't a justification for it, there is an explanation and another side for it.
Sanam has values because of the environment in which she grew up. She had a person like Dilshad teach her right from wrong. Even though she was poor, she had a stable, loving environment. That environment shaped and influenced the person she is today. She is the person she is BECAUSE of that family life and environment that Dilshad gave her from childhood.
Seher, on the other hand, was left alone when she was about 2. She had no one to care for her, teach her values, provide for her or give a flying fig about her, let alone love her. The absence of stability, love, and a proper upbringing have left a stain on her perception of the world. She is used to fending for herself. She even had a flashback where SHE WAS EATING FROM A TRASH CAN as a child. And still, there have been glimpses of her conscience. What we're seeing in her is NOT GREED, BUT NEED. A need to provide for herself because when you have no one else, the need to survive, the need to think of only yourself gives you no other options. Seher is the person she is, a flawed character, who despite her desire for money, has a conscience. She is this person DESPITE the circumstances under which she grew up.
Sanam is the person she is BECAUSE of her childhood environment and Seher is the person she is DESPITE her childhood environment. These differences are important when comparing Sanam and Seher. It's important to understand WHY Seher is behaving the way she is. Because only then will Seher be differentiated from Razia and Tanveer. And there is A HUGE DIFFERENCE. Tanveer killed Asya and the Nawab because she was greedy. She left her own son in an orphanage because she wanted money and status. Razia allowed her own child to be poisoned just so she could drive her husband's other child away from him.
Seher is still good in my book because she has literally no idea who her parents are, what her past is. She only knows that she grew up in a cruel world where had to fend for herself.
Side note (I forgot to add this): This does not mean that I don't think Seher needs to be punished in some way for what she's done. She's caused a lot of pain. Having a difficult childhood does not excuse her from what she's done. Our choices have consequences. Seher shouldn't be excused from dealing with the consequences of her selfish decisions that harmed someone else's life.
