Dir Atlee weds Priya...

Director Atlee tied the knot with his lady love Priya yesterday. And it was none other than director Shankar, who is Atlee's mentor, who played a vital role in the wedding ceremony that took place in the city yesterday.

A source says, "Normally, in weddings, the elders in the family are the ones who present the thaali (mangalsutra) to the groom to tie it. Shankar, who Atlee considers his mentor, was the one to present the thaali to Atlee as the two share a warm personal bond."

The wedding was a high profile one, with the who's who of K-town in attendance. Those present included producers AM Rathnam and Kalaipuli Dhanu, directors Shankar and Bala, actors Sivakarthikeyan, Sasikumar, Nasser and Nandha, music directors Harris Jeyaraj, GV Prakash and DOP George C Williams.

Kalaipuli Thanu blessed Atlee saying, "Your career is already blessed, may you have a blessed marriage too." Meanwhile, Sivakarthikeyan, who is a close friend of both Atlee and Priya posted on his social networking page, "My Best Friend Marrying My Best Friend?? Koodavae dhanada iruntheenga eppada vandhuchu indha lovuu."
