I noticed in last week's show, that there was a guy named Prahast....

As far as I knew, from Ramayan, Prahast was Ravan's son. How is he alive before Ravan even gets married???? Or is this another Prahast????

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I just started watching Ravan, and this phenomenon kinda contradicts what I learned from Ramayan.

In the TV serial, Prahast is Ravan's maternal uncle.

i thought that too but then i came to know its his uncle

Sumali had ten sons - Prahasta, Akampana, Vikata, Kalakamukha, Dhumraksa, Danda, Suparsva, Samhrada, Prakvata and Bhasakarna. He had four daughters - Veka (also called Brha), Puspotkata, Kaikasi and Kumbhinasi.

Ravan had seven sons:- Meghnad(Indrajit), Prahast, Atikay, Akshay, Devantak, Narantak, Trishira.
As you can see, Ravan had a maternal uncle named Prahast and also a son named Prahast.
