(Apologies for being late and probably redundant. As I keep saying, by now, writing this stuff is therapy for me. :-( )
In today's episode, KS finds out that AK might have only been giving lip service to his believing her above everyone else when he stops her slapping Alliyah; which is something that is enough to make them quarrel badly enough for KS to flounce off, and AK to want to get drunk. What he drinks is drugged, so that he can get setup to be in a compromising situation (CP) with Femme Fatale (FF) Simone; in the meantime, Josh somehow finds out that Bottle-Brush Mustache (BBM) Thug was behind the compromising newspaper photographs that caused the riots in Jallore, RJ and wants to talk with AK about it; Prithvi urges KS to make up with AK; both Josh and KS find out that AK's missing from his usual Daadi hangout and land up outside the hotel room where AK's in a CP; Josh tries to prevent KS from discovering the CP but instead it's FF Simone who saves AK's skin; AK wakes up with a hangover and weeps like a girl when he finds out he had been in a CP; Simone convinces him that the CP should remain a secret for the sake of AK&KS as well as FGPrithvi&FFSimone's relationship! On to the show then?
The first set had AK, red in face and red in shirt, blazing out at KS before she can slap Alliyah:Will you please get a grip? Alliyah and Josh see that there's cuckoo trouble brewing in AK&KS paradise and quietly leave, knowing that this is _not_ the right time to talk with AK. AK&KS hardly notice, AK: what is _with_ you and going after people in my life? KS sniffs: Oh, so you will not even listen to me about Alliyah? AK: Look, I've quarreled with Josh just because of you, and ... KS gets shrill: Oh! So _I'm_ to blame for that? You really didn't believe what I showed you? All the evidence? AK tries to backtrack: Look, Josh is one thing but Alliyah's my sister.. KS is not having any of it: You don't want me around? Then I'm off. She flounces off, and AK is steamed enough about Alliyah that he doesn't try too hard to stop her either.
(Hmm. I wasn't sure what AK was trying to pull off but there was a _strong_ flavour of "I'm just playing along with you" in his conversation with KS. Given that he's one character who knows his girl so very well, he must've been mighty ticked off at KS going after Alliyah to drop his placatory front with KS! It was a good nuance, but it ended up irritating me that he actually didn't mind breaking off with Josh in the first place.
MIKhan was decent with his fed-up act -- or is that just the reaction to the stubble talking?! - and NBamb put across the transparency of manipulating AK's emotions so well, it churned my stomach. .)
There's a little shot of Josh&Alliyah landing back home where Josh is trying to calm down an Alliyah who is clearly upset and puzzled at how to take things forward. Josh remembers a friend in Jallore with whom he's going to talk to get information!
The next set is AK back at the party with his old intentions of getting drunk, but NOT sitting at the bar! Which is perfect for someone to bribe the waiter and slip a mickey into AK's drink. AK's mooning over being alone, imagining dancing with his perfect partner; it's a good vision, but it ain't happening for real, and he's quickly brought back to his lonely reality. The drug's taking it's effect; he isn't feeling too well and he decides to stagger upstairs to take a break.
(One must, I suppose, pay homage to the imagined dance -- it was quite perfect -- after all, these two have spent quite some time practising these moves. But the thought arises unbidden -- if only they could put that much effort into practising being in a sensible verbal situation with each other. :-( So much heartache/loss could be prevented!
Of course, my hackles were also up because I felt as manipulated by the script+direction as AK is manipulated by KS! A perfectly executed dance is not a perfectly done story -- can we please move these characters on to a better relationship??!)
AK doesn't realise it but all along, he's under the eagle eye of FFSimone! Who follows him up, slithery and sly. In the room, AK's clutching his head when he feels a female hand on his head. To his blurry eyes, it's KS, at whom he smiles in welcome. But as she gets closer, his face breaks into a frown when he sees it's FFSimone. She clings vs. He tries to break free, but her clinging wins over his drugged breaking free efforts. The scene blurs to black as we are left to assume -- well, what we want to assume?
The second set begins with Josh being fiercely exultant with Alliyah: the BBM Thug has confessed in Jallore to all the crimes that Josh is blamed for. Josh wants to instantly run off to find AK, not heeding Alliyah's warnings to wait-and-watch a bit. But AK's not at Daadi's -- then where is he?? Alliyah tells Josh of "the room that is reserved at the venue for the previous night's party" - perhaps he is there? Josh takes off - but without Alliyah. :-(
(BTW, MIKhan's not the only one who rocks in a stubble -- Josh's smashing in stubble and a black shirt. Here's another character who has remained lean along with Karthik -- or does he just have the height for it? So far, he has towered over everyone else in the show.)
In parallel, at Prithvi's place, FGPrithvi cannot _believe_ that AK&KS are still mucking up their lives for apparently trivial things that they refuse to talk about! (GO, Prithvi!) He urges KS to get things cleared because "one day before the wedding, such things have to be sorted out" (Huh?) KS (looking very like Naina in this shot!) then reveals that AK's not at Daadi's, but is probably at "the room reserved at the venue of the previous night's party" raising FGPrithvi's exasperation into irritation levels. He pushes her out the door: let's go find him, you talk to him and clear matters! KS takes off -- but without Prithvi. :-(
In the last set, there is Josh running up a flight of stairs to get to "the room reserve...". He opens the door, (and this is the preview from the previous show) saying "Angad?" softly; and is startled to see AK and (who he thinks is) KS draped all over him in the nude. He leaves as softly, shaking his head and resolved to waiting for AK when he is even more startled to see KS running up the same flight of stairs to get to "the room reserve..."! Huh???! What the Hell is she doing _outside_? Then who's draped over AK inside? But before his brain can settle such matters, there is Hostile-Naina-like KS behaving in the best Naina-as-vampire manner, being dramatic and nonsensical about Josh needing to now leave AK&KS alone after having worked so hard to get them together, blah, blah. He is trying very hard to prevent her from going in "the room reser..": Please, I need to talk to him first; But like there was no stopping Naina-as-vampire earlier, there's no stopping KS; short of slapping her (well, I'd have cheered that!) or pushing her down the stairs, he is helpless but to let her go.
(Maybe I should have given Josh my Dial-a-Buffy-the-Vampire-Slayer number which I threw away after Naina talked with AK in the hospital. :-( )
KS swings the door open to find ... FF Simone sitting all made up and pretty in a sofa opposite the door. Josh, whose head is bent, waiting for the fireworks, slowly looks up when no such noise and light happens; and is startled to see KS and FF Simone having a semi-hostile conversation, that is nevertheless more civil than his conversation with KS. FF Simone claims to be alone, having had come up to rest after the party: "I hope you don't mind" is her saccharine question to a frowning Nain.. sorry, KS, who is short: No. But when KS leaves, FF Simone is looking straight at Honey Josh, whose face today is stern and set in stone: I know AK's here. When he comes to his senses, would you tell him to call me? FF Simone nods and Josh leaves. Don't leave, Josh! Barge in, shake AK up and talk with him! :-( But Josh leaves.
Within, AK's already stirring: My head! and accepts the glass of water that is handed to him. But he frowns when he sees it's FF Simone next to him. What are you doing here? And in escalating panic: What the hell happened here last night??! FF Simone attempts to look shy: Well, how can I give you the answer to that? AK's freaking out (and is very sensible when he freaks out, I must say!): What the hell do you mean, how can you answer that?? Just tell me what happened last night? Now FF Simone slips into coy mode: Look, we were both drunk and didn't know what we were doing... And AK (who we know has had his brain knocked out by KS :-( ) leaps to all the correct soap-opera-ish conclusions and starts weeping (like a girl! I don't care how many brickbats I am going to get for this! It was girly!): How can I have done this to KS? I can't have done this to KS! <Pause> I have to tell her! She might leave me, but I have to confess this tremendous sin to her! FF Simone gets waspish, and school-marm-ish: You will do NO such thing! AK turns rebellious: HUH??! Seeing this, FF Simone turns into a weepy, manipulative girl: Think of me, if not yourself! After so many barren, cold, dry years, I have found the love of my life and I want to spend my life with Prithvi (!??!) Do you want to spoil my chances as well as yours?? Manipulated-by-one-girl AK proves that he is wide open to the same tactics by any other girl - he stands there looking defeated.
End of show.
Preview (oh dear!): Dark, windy, glasshouse-kind-of setting: FGPrithvi is crying "Josh, forgive me, please, forgive me". Josh with a sad but forgiving face: "Prithvi, please..." The camera remains on Josh's face as FGPrithvi moves in for a hug "Please forgive me..." And suddenly, Josh jerks and his eyes open wide in shock as if he has been .. stabbed! Through the heart! The camera pans down and close to a knife that Prithvi's hand is sticking up through Josh's ribs directed straight at his heart. The camera cuts back to a shot of Prithvi's face at Josh's broad shoulder: the eyes are manic and widely staring; the lips are stretched back over clenched teeth! "I'm sorry, Josh" but the tone of this voice is completely different from the pleading voice of before.
The whole setting's macabre with that FGPrithvi face the most horrific of all things. The camera pans back to show Josh falling to his knees in front of FGPrithvi and that was the most horrible of all things -- Josh kneeling at FGPrithvi's feet! :-( The camera pans up to show his face, Josh has a sheen of sweat and the pain in his eyes is unbearable to watch :-( as he falls over onto his back. The camera pans in a floor upwards shot on FGPrithvi who's looking at his blood covered hands in apparent disbelief. Finally, the camera pulls over to show Josh's full body, lying on the cold, cold ground, in a pool of blood with his hand clutching his side where the knife is sticking out from his ribs.
(For all that it's worth, that had to be the BEST shot preview of them all, even better than the one where Daadi comes to meet AK and asks him to come home. :-( Technically, it was close to perfection. LooneyTunes was right: there was a total air of Brutus stabbing Ceaser here!
This morning, when my heart actually gives my brain a chance to consider the preview, this is what I come up with as the story: remember, KS calling the number that AK had given her in Jallore while on his way to the show? Several people on this forum had commented that the voice on the phone was that of FGPrithvi, speaking in a snarl. I'd guess that Josh's friend in Jallore got BBM Thug to talk, and they found out that BBM Thug reveals that it was Prithvi who hired BBM Thug to cause the riots/put the photographs in the newspaper. Josh finds out and comes to confront Prithvi. Prithvi thinks rapidly on his feet to get out of it, and kills Josh.
Which _DOESN'T_ make _SENSE_ to me as I understand the Prithvi character, of course. Prithvi in an act of un-pre-meditated passion? Not, no? Darn, I'm going to have to wait-and-watch. Darn!! I don't wanna Watch!
And this is a Thursday show, as someone pointed out before! Which means that we have the weekend to get to the next step? Argh.)
