Do the singers receive proper training?

Hey guys,

One thing about II that I am unable to understand is that do the singers receive proper guidance and training every week or are they supposed to just listen to the songs on their iPods, practice a whole lot and then perform? Is there any grooming going on like Saregama or even American Idol where they have a musician come in every week and teach a bit about singing to the contestants?

It seems like to me that the contestants are told - go find a song and sing it for the next gala, the theme is xyz.

i don't feel they do i mean only Ankita and Amit are singing well! 👏

Singers get training every week for da song. Last year Sandeep improved after training sessions as he was not as good as others initially

But they never show who they receive training from? Are there voice coaches/musical coaches assigned? We never see the behind the scenes except when they visit their daadi jaans and naani jaans :)

During the piano rounds (and also in II3 Fever episodes) there was a music director and vocal coach training and guiding the contestants. Thats at least what it looked like when watching the video avis. How long and frequent were the training sessions? Who knows? They showed the contestants practicing with the coaches, both in a group and individually. Music coach played the vaja and contestants were singing their selected songs for the piano rounds. Before the actual televised performances, the musical coaches would comment on each contestants capabilities (song selection, voice and tonal quality, past performances, prior training etc)

I think the channel gives a list of songs to each contestant. I believe they have to pick their gala song from that list . 😕

Now I think the contestants are busy doing promotions for the show and channel, whether its radio shows, singing in malls, Rubaroo episodes etc. I'm sure they get some time to practice but I doubt its very much.
