Happy New Year Grosses 168 Crore In Two Weeks

Happy New Year grossed around 34.50 crore nett in its second week which is the second highest second week of the year after Kick which grossed around 47 crore nett. The film was aided a couple of partial holidays in the week but still it is a decent hold in week two.

In terms of all time second weeks it is eighth highest ever and behind last years Shahrukh Khan starrer Chennai Express which was around 37.50 crore nett. The highest second week ever is Dhoom 3 with a 64 crore nett total.

The total for Happy New Year after two weeks is around 168 crore nett and the film should finish around the 180 crore nett mark which would make it the sixth highest grossing film ever.

^ Yeah, if the budget is high, if the movie has #1 hero and #1 heroine, if it's a solo release (Tsk, even monopoly couldn't help this time).. there are few other 'if's.

before release budget (promotions included) = around 150 cr
after release budget (promotions still going on) = ????

5 cr. for the promotional song. 2 cr. for desi tour, 5 cr. for those giveaway tickets' price (Which they'd add with the box-office collection), +10/20 cr. hidden ;-)

I think, RCE (the producer) is paying for the post-release promotions to save its owner's face, not YRF (the distributor).
