The fit and fine Arjun Kapoor that we see today, was not always like that. But once he decided to make his Bollywood debut with, he was determined to lose those extra kilos. The actor now said that if he is dating an overweight girl then he will make her lose weight. He justifies it by saying that it will make her feel good about herself.

He also said that overweight people lack self-confidence and even today he somewhere feels that way.

In an interview with a popular tabloid, Arjun said, "People, who are overweight, suffer from lack of self-confidence. Till today, I suffer from lack of self-confidence because of what I was. My personality is now flowering because I feel better."

And when asked if he would date an overweight girl, he said, "I would try to make her lose weight. The main reason for that being, she would feel better about herself. If I'm dating someone and she's overweight, I'll make her lose weight."

Well that's fine, but what about his rumoured girlfriend Sonakshi Sinha, who is often on the receiving end for her weight issues. The actress is not bothered about it and has often lashed out at the fashion police. Last month, she even posted a picture of a skeleton on Instagram and criticised them for constantly commenting on her weight.

So, Sonakshi is not bothered about weight, and Arjun cares because it boosts up self-confidence. Do you think Arjun's comment can lead up to an argument between the alleged couple?

Its not fair to 'make someone lose weight.' You can motivate, encourage, tell them in your way, or whatever but at the end of the day its the individual's choice to lose weight or not.

I agree with everything else he said, but you cannot 'make' someone lose weight. The person has to see it in themselves that they'll feel so much better after shedding some weight.

I get what he means...he was once obese and suffered health issues. He would not like his GF to feel, what he felt at that time. He would help her loose weight by asking her to loose.
Nothing sexist in this statement,

Using the phrase "I'll make her ..." by a potential boyfriend is sexist and condescending. And for someone who claims to have suffered from low self esteem issues of his own I would have hoped that he would have a much better understanding of it's who you are that matters not what you look like. Sounds like he's only worked on his issues at a superficial level and not dealt with the root of his problems. I hate to see what might happen if he ever gains the weight back.

Very wrong in wording.
I'll make her??
Absolutely not right wording, and if he means it then I feel
For future mrs Arjun.

Although I doubt that's what he wanted to say.

I remember reading another interview of his from a few months ago where he talks about his sister and said that she was learning how to run a household from their grandmothers. That one didn't leave a very good impression in my mind either. She's a young girl who should start a career but instead she's being given a very old fashioned and old school responsibility of running a household. And now this?! I'm thinking he really truly is of the mind that men and women have different roles in a relationship and that he as the man is the decider. If not then he seriously needs to work on his English verbiage.

Not to sound mean but I'm wondering how his sister is feeling about this interview if his. She is someone that would be categorized as overweight.

LOLL what an ass. But wait, how come Malaika didn't make him lose weight while they were supposedly banging each other? 😲 God knows how she tolerated his overweight self in bed.
