Dont blame Dhruv -- Or blame both of them.

Dhruv is not to be blamed -- and if it is necessary to blame than both are culprits --- Both were hiding their true feelings from each other -- diverting talks, ignoring the subject, staring awkwardly at everything but each other.

Dhruv and Manik are best friends, -- not telepathic twins that they would know what the other is feeling if both of them try to hide it so obsessively from each other.

In friendship, especially theirs -- being truthful and trusting is important. And their friendship is more of a big bro- younger bro thing --- The real definition of friendship is defined by what Manik-Cabir have. The last 4-5 scenes between them is proof enough. Dhruv-Manik has always been a different equation. And don't apply some overly high standard of friendship and what it should be.

Dhruv didn't catch how Manik was behaving so weirdly -- looked so shocked and his alugh was so empty. When Dhruv can't see that Nandu thinks of him as just a friend, then how can he see it in Manik's eyes that he thinks of Nandu as more than a friend?

Dhruv might have noticed that Manik has been lying to him about everything Nnadini --- that there might be something more from Manik's side. But he has never witnessed the MaNna chemistry and moments like we have.
It didn't stop him from falling for Nandini.

Manik might have noticed how Dhruv is infatuated with Nnadini more than he lets on suspects something. Did it stop him from falling for Nandini?

Dhruv thought that Manik hates Nandini -- Because that is what Manik always projected, always claimed and showed.

Even when he started to un-hate Nandu and then liking her, when Dhruv asked, Manik didn't saw the need to correct him.

Dhruv liked Nandu, had a crush on her --- but told Manik that it is just friendship --- even when it became much more, he did not correct Manik when he mentioned.

So, dont blame Dhruv just because Dhruv finally told Manik how he really truly feels first.

If it was Manik who had told Dhruv first, Dhruv would have backed off quietly in his shell too.

In the end, Heart break is for Dhruv only.

I am rooting for MaNan too, but Dhruv is no bad guy here just because he chose to share his true feelings with Manik, that too, the same night he had hoped to have a date with Nandini and confess his feelings.

Dhruv is not being blamed. it's the dynamics of fab5 which I hold responsible for this. Both Dhruv and Manik are free to love whoever they want but it's fab5's inability to realize and take manik granted. They very rarely see his broken self.
Dhruv's heart-break is not that severe IMP, it's infatuation , his idea of Nandini is too perfect. Yes it will be painful, but due to lack of any concrete bond between Nandu and him, the hurt would be less.

But here Manik is in a catch-22, as Nandu and he have promised each other trust..hamesha , at the same time he has been protecting Dhruv for years, he knows how hard it is for Dhruv to be put his everything out like that. A part of him knows Nandu won't reciprocate but the "what if" scenarios are numbing him. He cannot out Dhruv's feelings to Nandu nor can he talk it with Dhruv, so he would burn and pine each moment with whatever decision he takes.

my problem with Dhruv is the idea of love and Nandu he has in his head. He knows Manik kept aside his differences with Nandu to discuss his disease - doesn't that show maturity and communication between Nandu and Manik? Dhruv selective hearing is his downfall- which is understandable given his health issues and passive nature.

In all, Manik needs to learn to put himself first.

i dont blame him
he's a reserved and shy person, and guess somewhere he always faded behind everyone's shadow in the Fab5.
Nandini was the 1st person to look at him individually, she forced her way in his life with her smile, happiness and friendship...
She's a novelty to him, whether its true love or just an infatuation, i dont know
What i blame is the series of lies which made Manik force to hide or even hesitant to share his true feelings for Nandini to his close friends, and on top he really didnt have much time either anyway...

Circumstances are to be blamed for what is happening, but for what "WILL" happen, that only Manik is to be blamed, because he's taking the choice out of Nandini's hands if he decides to sacrifice her for Dhruv.
None had any control on what happened, but what will happen is definitely in their hands, like Manik shouldnt give up, Nandini shouldnt accept Manik's rejection, true love is worth fighting for

@blue WORD! That would be like his major character development and the most needed one, at that.

Ok Medha, sorry for deviating. 😆

You have a very strong point here. But even I've blamed both of them in my own post- and so have many.

I completely agree with Genie here. It's Fab 5 and their concept of 'friendship' which is the main culprit!

Maanik has deluded himself into believing that Dhruv wouldn't fall for Nandu. (but he sorta made sure that Nandu won't fall for Dhruv either).

Dhruv has deluded himself into believing that Nandu loves him.

Aalya is under the delusion that she and Maanik still have a chance.

Mukti is deluded herself into believing that Maanik-Aalya are the 'perfect couple'. That nothing can go wrong in their paradise.

Cabir is deluding himself into thinking that Raghav is gonna come out in the open with him.

You see- they ALL dwell on delusions!

Arre, Fab 5 are 'family', na! So Maanik is family, hence the Un-familyzoned. 😆
