Yes, the sequel to the Riteish Deshmukh production is all set to be staged as a play soon. The film which was set in the 1980s and dealt with the issue of explaining sex related queries of adolescents was very well recieved and had been cleared with an U/A certification by the CBFC. However the play has been given an A certificate by the theatre certification body. Speaking to a regional daily, Ambar Hadap, the writer of the play said, "There is no abusive or bad language in the play and I feel the name, BP, drew the certification from the censor board. The sad part is that the age group that the play has been made for won't be able to see it."
The play will have Prathamesh Parab reprising his role and will start from where the film left off. In fact, the film itself was adapted from a play by the same name performed by Mumbai's Dahanukar College students. We hope the decision is reviewed and the play made watchable for everyone.
