Mumbai: After getting him on the couch for a candid chat, Karan Johar has now roped in Aamir Khan for his next directorial.

Dharma Productions has already begun the pre-production work on the project.

This was not something the industry saw coming as Karan Johar and Aamir have never been known to be best friends.

In fact, Aamir had even mentioned on the show that how he was never too impressed by the filmmaker's talkative ways. But that is all in the past now.

A source reveals, "Equations are always subject to change. In the industry, it's the script that brings both parties together. Karan had a script that Aamir couldn't refuse and hence gave his nod to the project. It's a script that is very close to Karan and he felt that Aamir would best suit the role."

Nowadays, the two meet regularly to discuss the script in detail.

An insider tells us that Aamir has been calling Karan every day to his office and their meetings stretch over many hours.

The source adds, "Karan visits Aamir's office almost daily. In the initial stages, it is vital to convince Aamir about all the scenes, as he is very particular about the script that will eventually go on floors. But once the shoot begins, he doesn't interfere much. He only gives his inputs during the pre-production stage."

When two master entertainers join forces, one can expect nothing short of fireworks on screen. Well, we surely cannot wait for this one!

Aamir (Khan) and Ranbir (Kapoor) are on top of the list. I've worked with Shah Rukh, Salman (Khan), Hrithik (Roshan) but I haven't worked with these two.

what evil this guy is.. every single person he trashed at some point, salman to aamir... he is going and begging to them now... he kicked srk, imran and everyone who didn't lick his feet forever...

i just hope Bhansali doesn't shift Bajirao's date if this movie is releasing on that date... I don't mind Bajirao flopping but chopping off KJo's movie revenue is the biggest achievement that anyone can do and i will have respect for Bhansali lifelong.
Hope RK doesn't shift his movie too..

It's a pity to see Aamir trying to become shahrukh now... Shahrukh trying to become Salman with masalas, kya kam tha?!

He approached them as producer, and they signed it since they saw merit in it. They would not have signed the film if they didn't seem good. It's just business. Where is the begging angle?

When u trash people in the past and go back to the same ppl again and ask them, that's begging in my dictionary😆. Why didn't Kjo sign salman and aamir for prod house for 20 odd years? The whole world can see what kinda person KJo is.

If this is true, Aamir is most probably gonna ghost direct the film..Cos there is no way in hell Aamir will let Karan direct the film the way he wants 😆

Na but i do think Aamir is very interfering 😆 I refuse to believe that he let Vijay Krishna Acharya do his job in peace..Interfering need not always yield positive results..Look at Bang Bang 😆 Its probably as bad as BAH though HR is said to have interfered a lot in the making the film 😆 Aamir is a control freak & Karan's sensibilities are drastically different from his..There is a reason things never work out between Vishal Bharadwaj & Aamir 😆

P.S. I think Hirani is the only guy who probably has his way with Aamir cos Hirani is obviously the most sought-after director in Bollywood 😆
