wat u say is absolutely right!!*thumbs up*
But seriously I feel that this is nt the only show doing this to women.. almost every show portrays lady as someone who undergoes so much pain humiliation at her in laws, and then in the end she forgives all... now evryone wonders if its giving wrong msg that women r supposed to bear all the torture...

as much as I love hindi shows i cnt help but say they have been always unfair to women.. of course this phase of distress ends n leading lady bounces back but still...

my pov. no offense to the actors/creatives

I have been following the soap through written updates. Because I am curious when will the day come for this. Haha!!

That was what I so strongly reacted on August 21st. Haha!! Its a posted over my blog.

And my last watch (kinda) last habitual one ended on Sep 18th. Getting old, its difficult to fill in gaps of soapy entertainment we get used to. BUT...certainly...inspite of gaping ennui with nothing to watch on TV, I cannot watch utter crap.

Somebody said it rightly. Why cry hell at women being shown with utter disregard when they are doing same with men. And that made me today, write here. Yes, I am one for Gender Equality and I did remember that, it is what I was craving for.

Anyways, what I really want to talk about for those who still keep up with hope...

See the show's dramatic Plot is Kumkum Bhagya.

So the driving point is the ILLOGICAL GROWTH in UNION of ABHI and PRAGYA - the unlikely mates and soul mates.

Poetically we all understand what it means, because every other soap has a story of unlikely mates getting married. So what this show does is, showing all serious circumstances of possible break up between the mates, they have an illogical, unresolved, coerced, lingering patch up to continue in the marriage.

So in my opinion, never it is going to be any satisfactory trending towards a marriage or a relationship as we want. Its kinda going to be a monologue filled relationship. From the beginning the two protagonists have been fighting not to hate each other, but just to say Begone from here, coz I cant stand you or understand you. But then there is that sticky feeling about each other, where they dont think worse of each other, though they would like to. And that is what both Abhi and Pragya keep experiencing. Its not just Pragya who today is behaving "lattoo", for that matter, in spite of all buffoonery, Abhi wants his Grandmother to win. So that is the bhagya there. Bhagyavash, one denies, other wants him/her to marry or remain married. And this goes on.

And why the TRP has solidified at this point is that, even the audience is trying to get a grip on how the Bhagya angle is going to keep working. I guess at the end of every episodic story, they just see bhagya elements and neutralize themselves from any feeling. Like one after the other there are Bhagya items. When Pragya and her mother are on verge of getting the reality out, Pragya's grandmother stops her. And this sort of blockages will keep coming...until WHICH POINT, WHAT TIME is the running curiosity that holds the TRP together. And yes I agree, it has to be entertaining to sustain that TRP. Already KKB has slipped down in the scoring chart.

Cheers SD

I am an admirer of Jane Austen's works and was rather puzzled when Ekta announced that this serial is a loose adaptation of "Sense and Sensibility", for two reasons. To me, Jane Austen's novels seem relevant when seen in context of the period thay were placed in and attempts to "modernize" her works, like they did for "Pride and Prejudice" , failed to capture the essence and feel of the plot. S&S has even more muted characters and I was both curious and fearful how Ekta would tweak it, knowing her penchant for DRAMA.
I see nothing of the novel in this serial. Thats ok. But what puzzles me is that there seems to be no context or backdrop for any of the characters to behave the way they do. The leads or the mother or the siblings or the kind hearted neighbour or any of them. Why are they behaving the way they are and doing things that they are is actually not comprehensible to me. Which is a big let down. And therefore it is getting difficult to sustain the story, if any.
I wonder how the story would progress , once the leads eventually fall for each other.

Totally agree with you . I too was shocked to see the blatant comparision - I mean does this show and story come anywhere near Jane Austens work ? Amazing , the extent to which they go..
