Her Best Friend - AbhiGya and SuBul

"Ouch!"

Abhi rubbed his forehead and turned to look at the idiot who banged into him.

"What the hell!? Can't you see where you are going!? It is so crowded here you should be careful! It's good that it was me. But think if it was some other person? What if it was a kid? His skull would have cracked open by hitting with your thick skull!"

Abhi stared at the guy who was standing in front of him. Unbelievable man! He is lecturing me!? What an idiot! He banged into me! And now all this! And I was going to apologize to this double battery! No! Never!

The guy was pushing his Chashma higher and higher while looking at Abhi sternly.

Who is this double battery? And what the hell is he doing here? I have never seen him before! I am sure he must be some strict principal or a lecturer or teach... Wait! Lecturer!

Suresh watched as the guy who banged into him surveyed him with narrowed eyes. Who is he? And what is he doing here out of all the places? Ripped jeans, tight t-shirt, studs, rings, dog tags, wrist bands... He looks like a hippie! But look at his arrogant attitude! Just as if he is some sort of a celebrity! Celebrity!? Him!? Oh god... Not THAT Rockstar!

"Abhi! What are you doing! Bring those flowers quickly!"

Both Abhi and Suresh looked towards the voice to find Bulbul perched on top of a ladder carefully hanging flowers in the nearby pillar.

"Arrey Suresh!? When did you come? Did you meet Abhi? Abhi meet Suresh. You know Suresh right? Di's best friend Suresh! And Suresh you haven't met Abhi till date right!?"

"No actually..."

"Oh I know you know him as Rockstar Abhi but today he is here as Bulbul's best buddy Abhi! Okay now get done with all your 'hello hi's and come help me!"

'HelloHi' to this double battery! Abhi mused to himself as he nodded his head at Suresh with a polite smile.

So I was right! The lecturer guy! Boring Chashmish's boring friend! Best friend!? Best friend my foot! He must be the reason why she is so boring! Who wears cloths like that!? Like Suri from Ran ne bana Di Jodi! She should have selected more rocking friends! Cool friends! Like Bulbul! See now she has a good choice!

Suresh returned Abhi's acknowledgement with a nod in his own.

Wasn't it enough that I had to hear about this so called Rockstar for all these years now I have to meet and greet his highness in person! Bulbul is flaunting him as he is some kind of god! I should have advised Pragya to not let Bulbul go to that gig years ago. Who would have thought that Bulbul would find her so called best friend in a gig! Bulbul often says how they hit it off so well from the first instance they talked to each other. Both so similar... She said! Similar! Look at her just like an angel! And him!? Like some rowdy!

And what is this!? Bulbul has been asking him to pass those flowers to her for ages now but he is staring at the stairs looking all lost! What a fool!

"Suresh! When did you come!?"

Suresh turned around hearing Pragya's voice to find her coming down the stairs.

"Arrey Pragya! How are you? Got here just now... I was just talking to Bulbul..."

Abhi watched Pragya coming down the stairs and giving Suresh a quick hug.

She hugs him? She never hugs me!

Abhi pretended to be oblivious to the exchange between the so called best friends as he finally passed the flowers to an impatient Bulbul.

"Did you have something to drink?"

Oh hello! Chashmish! I have been here since morning carrying all these flowers and stuff! And you go and ask this Double Battery whether HE wants to have a drink!?

"Oh by the way did you meet Abhi?"

Finally, remembered I am here right!? Huh... Now let's see how you introduce me!

"Okay leave him! You come with me we have got so much to do before Daadi comes! Ma said they are leaving home in one hour."

What!? She doesn't even want to introduce me to that Double battery! Waise what does she think that I am dying to meet him!? Huh!

"Don't worry Pragya! Now that I am here I will manage it all! After all 80 comes once in a lifetime right!? We will make this the most memorable birthday for her..."

Stupid Idiot! Who made him a lecturer!? '80 comes once in a lifetime'!? Oh hello double battery FYI every year comes once in a lifetime! And what did you say? You are here and you will manage!? Hey today is MY Rockstar Daadi's birthday! It will be a rocking party! And I will see to that!

"Thank you so much Suresh! Okay then we have to finish these flower decorations and then we have to arrange the table...then many more..."

"Di let's divide the work! You just finish this and till then I will go and arrange the table. And Abhi and Suresh can join in. Right guys!?"

"Good idea! I will join Pragya!"

Abhi said quickly.

"Great! Then I will go with you!"

Huh? Double Battery wants to go with Bulbul? And he seems too relieved to work with Bulbul. With Bulbul? But I thought...

"Okay then let's start!"

The two sisters went separate ways to start their tasks while Abhi and Suresh stood rooted to the spot measuring each other up.

Double battery wants to work with Bulbul!? Finally he is talking sense!

Rowdy wants to work with Pragya!? Suddenly he is not so annoying as he first appeared to be!

This time both managed a genuine smile and nodded at each other.

"Okay then... Thank you! Err... I mean... It is just that I am very good with decorating!"

What even! Abhi! Did you really tell the guy that you have a talent in flower decorating!?

"Yes! Same here. I love arranging tables! So the pleasure is all mine!"

Huh! See! That wasn't so bad! See so he is good at arranging tables and I am good at flower decorations.

Abhi nodded at Suresh once again and went looking for Chashmish while Suresh went looking for Bulbul, each content and happy that they got the best out of the bargain, without letting the cat out of the bag.

Nice I like how Abhi was kind of jealous of Pragya hugging Suresh, he was talking to himself lol so cute it's nice to see he wants to work with Pragya and didn't want suresh and pragya to work together

Never shipped subul but your writing is too good so am almost rooting for them😃😃 Keep writing more...love reading the drabbles and then wish that actually happened in the real kb!
