Why is Karishma clever in phone booth task?

Lying or rather manipulating words was part of the task to get things done - I feel that was okay. Even Sushie did it while telling Pritam and Puneet that both would be nominated if one didnt nominate himself. Im saying she didnt have to do any major strategizing as at that point noone knew that they could refuse to do the task and just went with everything she said. After she revealed it then of course it was difficult for Puneet and Sushant but for her it was easy.
