At the havan why is the priest putting sindoor on the forehead of Anshuman's widow?
As far as I know that is an absolute NO-NO.

This soul peace pooja itself has so many loopholes..

Creatives have messed it up a little with the rituals..

First whatever the relationship between Veer..Pakhi she has taken the saath phere ... apply sindoor and wear mangalsutra in the name of Veer..She is no more a widow as every rituals happenned as in a marriage..

So pakhi sitting there as a widow itself is a big No-No..Ayaan should have sit there and do the pooja not Pakhi..

Well normally widows as per tradition in pooja ceremony takes the chandan tikka not red one..

WELL I WOULD SAY that widow would not wear red at any cost and lavanya was wearing white but paakhi wear red, they got confused with colors.

I agree with you Ayaan should be the one sitting there doing the havan not Pakhi and not Lavanya.

Also if Pakhi thinks herself to be wedded to Anshuman - she should be dressing more modestly. She flaunts her strapless back - as if she is desperate to attract another man!!

And before she blames Veer - I think she needs to explain why she is continuing with the marriage. Now that she has custody of Ayaan - she need not stay wedded.

They got confused or are they deliberately showing that Pakhi is confused? Pakhi does not know what her identity is anymore.

Is she to live in the world as Anshuman's widow? Or is she to go forth in the world as Veer's wife?

Is she to continue affirming that Lavanya and Anuja are her only in-laws? Or is she to accept Jiji and the rest of Veer's family as her in-laws?

Is she supposed to dress modestly as a widow? Or is she to go around dressed as a newly-wed bride?

Basically Pakhi is confused.

Exactly Paakhi is getting confused.! The color of th saree she chose was symbolic don't you think 1/2 red 1/2 white... cause tight now she has to decided which side she wants to be on.
coming to the rituals not to sure how things are done in India, but yes i know the deceased's son is usually the one to perform the rituals.

I think that perhaps the makers were trying to show the inner conflict in Pakhi - her conscious mind says that she is Ansuman's widow (her marriage to Veer is just an arrangement for Aayan's sake) but her unconscious mind knows that she is a married woman. She may have made that symbolic gesture of walking with Aayan in the phera as if to say Pakhi's Ayaan's mother married Veer not Ansuman's Pakhi. Unfortunately Ansuman's Pakhi and Ayaan's mother are one and the same person. SO Pakhi is a married woman.
If you believe Hindu scripture then the 7 pehra joins two people's Aatma/dil for 7 life times. So whilst Pakhi may believe that she and Ansuman are joined for the next 7 lifetimes perhaps it is that this is the last of their 7 lifetimes which is why she has ended up marrying Veer and therefore her journey in this and next 7 lifetimes is with Veer.

It is wet rice grain put on the forehead of a person who do the puja...remembering death person

In a happy occasion kum kum or vibhuthi will be put on forehead before starting havan...

This is the custom of hindus usual we see in these occasions

I have to add one more point, the unbroken rice grains symbolises steadfastness and firmness of the brain and is also a symbol of peace.
