shlok's main flaw is his insecurity and lack of trust in relationships, because of his mother's betrayal. his anger problem didn't help either in his relationships with either swathi or aastha. aastha's repeated assertions and mainly the resolution of his relationship with his mother healed this insecurity. but still he looks for aastha's acknowledgement and assurance every time he does something for her. thats how aastha should be... repeatedly assuring him that she will always be there with him. thats why i never felt aastha should be a feminist and she is not a doormat either. she stands up for what she thinks is right.

shlok once said that he always felt like an orphan though he had a mother. that's how much he craved for his mother's love since childhood, though he is getting niranjan's toxic love. he shows extreme gratitude towards niranjan for this love, because this is all he got since childhood. he being the chosen one of niranjan, he was isolated from the rest of the family. though all the agnihotri siblings love each other, there is always that invisible barrier between them, which stops them from reaching out to each other in need. niranjan has created these by belittling varad and jyothi in different ways and favoring shlok abnormally.

but shlok never lets his ego rule when it comes to his loved ones. its always his father that stopped him from doing the right thing for either jyothi or aastha. he washed siddhath's feet without any qualms! he is a caring, responsible guy. he put up with nagging passengers because this job is important for him to take care of his mother and wife. he doesn't seem to particularly look down upon poor people either, but as he is born in riches, he is not used to certain things and is doubtful about happiness in poverty. he enquired about jyothi's happiness with lokhandeys in their one room apartment. even i would do that because i'm not used to living in such conditions.🤔
