It was a little close to midnight on Halloween. Bua was walking on the side of the road. She had decided to go to a Halloween's party with Ishita. Seeing the witches and other weirdos at the party, Bua had second thoughts and decided to walk back to Scindia Mansion.
The weather had taken a sudden turn for the worse. It was windy, raining with thunder and lightening. Bua was caught in a rain storm; the storm was so strong she could hardly see a few feet in front of her.
It was a very dark night, the storm made it difficult to walk. The foot path (or side walk) was filled with rain water and twice Bua had slipped and fallen. Her clothes were wet and she was finding it difficult to put one step in front of another.
Suddenly she saw a car coming towards her and stop. She saw that it was a taxi, without thinking twice Bua got in to the car, put on her seat belt, and closed the door --- only to realize there is nobody behind the wheel.
The car starts slowly, Bua looks ahead at the road and sees a curve (or a turn) coming. Scared out of her wits, Bua starts to pray truly to her Bhagwan (no kasams) begging for her life. As the car nears the curve, Bua starts to hiccup in panic, just then a hand appears through the window and moves the wheel.
Bua, paralyzed with terror, watches in shock as the hand appears every time a curve appears on the road ahead. Bua thanks Bhagwan that the car is going in the direction of Scindia mansion. She slowly gathers her wits and strength, at the main junction closest to Scindia Mansion she gets out of the taxi and runs home.
She knocks wildly on the door and the minute it was opened by Yash rushes in, holds on to Yash and sobs loudly on his shoulder. Yash gently tries to calm her down. Aarti gets her a dry towel and a change of clothes.
A few minutes later, feeling fresh and sipping a piping hot cup of adrakwali-tulsi chai Bua narrates her story. She talks about how Bhagwan saved her and her renewed faith in God. She promises (makes a kasam) that she will go on a pilgrimage (tirth yatra) to Haridwar.
All at Scindia Mansion were silent and deeply moved by Bua's tears and story.
About 30 mins later the door bell rang again. This time Yash found 2 men, wet from head to foot, standing at the entrance. He invited them in for a cup of tea and asked them the purpose of their visit. Pointing at Bua they said "She got in to our taxi when we were pushing it through flood water. She got off and ran away without paying us. We are here to collect the cab fare".
