INTRODUCTION

Some people say the worst way to miss someone is when they are right next to you and you know you can't have them.
But the worst is when you thought you didn't want them anymore and then all of a sudden you realize you can't live without them.
CALCUTTA
She sat at the desk, fully engrossed with what she was penning there like usual. The two sniggering girls walked past the door giving a rude point to her like everyday. There was not a single desk which didn't have that imprinted on it and no one else had space to imprint their lover's name on it.
Lifting her tearful eyes off the table, she ran her fingers on his name and then down to her's which seemed to bring joy to her whenever their names were connected. Rising from the hard seat, she gave one last glance to the desk which read;
Arnav
Loves
Khushi
She knew it that every desk was filled with the same sentence but she wouldn't stop. She would rather spend her entire life writing that but no one could stop those three words flowing from her mouth. It was becoming a daily need for her and more than food and water, she lived on these three words;
Arnav Loves Khushi...
Stumbling out of the empty classroom, her mind turned back into a flashback when she had seen him go, when she had seen him walk out with her leaving her heartbroken...
*Flashback*...
"This is a flight announcement. Flight Number 203 which is heading to New York has now arrived. Please can all passengers board to the flight on Terminal C. Thank you.." announced the announcer and immediately movement was sensed around her.
Watching him disappear behind the glass door, she felt her heart clench and a sudden urge to call him back but a comforting hand placed it's arm around her as she melted into him deeply sobbing. It was Aryan, her best friend who was there with her in times of need and comfort.
"Khushi. We should go now.." suggested Samrat dragging her away while she kept looking back in hope that he would return, he would come rushing back to her and hold her but it was too late. He was gone...
*End of Flashback*
Five fingers lingered in front of her face, startling her from her thoughts. It had often happened to her, she would start thinking about him any second, any minute, any hour of her life and then someone just had to interrupt her.
"Khushi!" yelled the impatient girl shaking her from her shoulders. "What's wrong with you, Khushi? I have been standing here for the last five minutes observing you but you seemed to be lost..."
Blinking away the tears, Khushi meekly shook her head replying "No, La. I was just thinking that I should be going home.."
"You bet, you should! Your brother called up five times already. And it's nearly six 'o' clock in the evening.." complained Lavanya linking her strong arm with Khushi's weak one. If Khushi had only one person she can trust, it was La, her best friend.
Lavanya was a flamboyant kind of girl who was gaga about make-up and hot celebrities whom she liked to watch. Khushi had often become the victim of her loud rock music concerts which she had dragged her to come and watch with her.

"Here we go again! Miss Khushi Kumari Gupta is lost again!" announced Lavanya angrily to the passing by girls who simply sniggered.
"Khushi, why can't you just get over Arnav? You seem to chant his name as if he is god!"
"Lavanya- how did you know -" gasped Khushi as Lavanya rolled her eyes whenever she was fed up and bored.
Was it written on her face or were her eyes too easy to read?
"Khushi! You write the same sentence on every desk, so what do you expect?" she snorted dragging her to the entrance as a black gleaming car
She sat in the leather car seat gently pushed forward by Lavanya who ordered the driver to Khushi's house.
The whole journey went by with Lavanya quipping about make-up and how boring lives were.
"Ol right, Khushi. See you then.." said Lavanya giving a side hug as Khushi clambered out of the car.
It immediately took off as Khushi watched it sped past the yards..
NEW YORK
It was around four in the morning when darkness and light were uniting, when night and day converted in each other and when the first realization of love cast over him. The glow from the sun was a fresh start for him, a new beginning, a fresh breathe, a new day but he didn't know what was coming his way...
Two years had passed like a few days, like a blink of his eyes. But in these Two years his life had become more miserable and dreading and he himself was finding hard to believe something which he had gone through. He didn't know why but he felt as if something special was coming his way, something unique, something extraordinary, something - which would make him forget her.
Sometimes the darkness you are scared of becomes your refuge, the way it had become for Arnav Singh Raizada for the past two years.
He opened his eyes at the beam of light from the sun hit his masculine features. Peering around, he noticed sun rising in the sky; indicating him in the new morning in life.
Arnav felt something loosening within him, something that had yearned to be set free.
And there he felt a hand on his shoulder;
The swift gusts of wind were making her silky, straight tresses blow in the air. The wet, crusty smell of the earth was refreshing and appeasing. The soothing movement of the winds over the glittering, droplets gave a relaxing feel. It was a feel which was rarely felt by him.
Khushi, in an white-blue salwar that made her look brighter and fresher than she already was, Her hair, falling like rain on her face. Her eyes like black ink, twin seals to both their fates.. her smile so breathtakingly familiar, because it was once a smile only he could have brought out from her. Her husky, haunting voice that he had once thought was meant for him.
"Arnav" , she whispered with a smile.
A lone tear escaping her eye, running down her cheek and dropping but before it even landed on the floor, it landed on the open palm which held it. Closing his palm, he brought it to his side, his eyes still locked with hers.
One touch...that would be all. His hand cupping her cheek. One touch, to convince himself that she was still there.
That she wouldn't disappear. Like always..
There was something stopping him. Fear of losing her. He knew that he had no right anymore. His eyes had no right to wish for the sight of her every morning, His feet had no right to walk in her direction, his hand had no right to trace the length of her hair.
His heart had no right to break the moment she'd choose another man. But it would, and there was nothing he could do to stop it.
He had no right to that ginger-hued glow. Not when his world was nothing but black, black, black.
Khushi smiled at him, a warm friendly open smile, and for like every time in years he could not bear to return it.
She was beginning to turn away now: It was enough to tear him apart.
He grabbed her hand and pulled him to her. He could feel the heat from their bodies through those layers of clothing, could feel the ice chip that was once his heart melting. She didn't speak, just waiting, her liquid eyes round and filled with questions.
"Don't go yet," he said, his tone of voice almost verging on begging, "Please."
He asked reaching forward to run his fingers on her cheek as tears brimmed his eyes.
"Good bye Laad Governor"
She smiled and disappeared in gusty winds where she came from.
His new found heart sank to the bottom of his feet.
Behind him, the sky blazed orange.
