Aamir'a films do well but have low opening (excluding franchise Dhoom) because his films have good scripts.

SRK's films always have big openings because he has a huge fan base who come to watch day one regardless of how the movie looks. Which only Salman fans can match.

Just for the record guys. I'm not Aamir hater. I like him and believe Peekay will be the biggest grosser of the year ahead of happy new year as it looks like an interesting film. I just don't think it will beat the day one record which is set by HNY. Because Srk is a bigger star and has a much larger fan base then Aamir.
