Designer speak
Balaji designer Nim Sood shies away from the camera and prefers to let her work be seen instead. And guess what? She is also Ekta Kapoor's aunt. Sood speaks about the women she's dressed up for the upcoming Navratri episode:
1. SMRITI IRANI (TULSI IN KYUNKI):
We have designed a turquoise blue lehenga for Tulsi with a very heavy dupatta. She is after all a Virani bahu. Besides, turquoise suits her temperament. The work on her lehenga was done in pink diamantes and gold sequins. Her lehenga took us a month to complete with 15-20 people working on it.
2. GAURI PRADHAN (NANDINI IN KYUNKI) :
When I see Gauri, I think of white. White is ethereal, soft and delicate… We designed an outfit that wasn't too harsh for her. So white it had to be. Her outfit has three colours - white, magenta and yellow. Her blouse was a bustier with mirror work and we gave her diamond jewellery that complemented her outfit.
3. RAKSHANDA KHAN (TANYA IN KYUNKI):
She has a very nice skin texture that blends well with any shade of pink. So for the occasion, we designed a lehenga for her. Of course, it has pink. But it will also have shades of blue, gold, purple and orange sequins and Zardosi work.
4. SHWETA TIWARI (PRERNA IN KASAUTI):
I have designed Prerna's outfit in a very unusual combination of emerald green and royal blue. This makes it outstanding. We gave her a big choker as she is tall and has a slender neck. Her lehenga is in panels encrusted with stones and golden beads. It took two weeks to tailor this outfit.
5. NATASSHA (ANJALI IN KAVYANJALI):
Natassha looks gorgeous in dark colours and carries them off very well. She looks very pretty in maroon. Her lehenga was designed in kundan, along with zardosi, sequins and stones. Her blouse was fully sequinned and had a bronze look.
