This post is about the dialogue Ranvi said to Ratan about keeping Veera safe, it was something like I allowed her to reach the shelf, not the fire.
It is similar to a mother teaching her child how to cross the road, when the signal is green she would stop him and even when the signal is red she would walk with. That is because there is always a chance that some cars may not obey traffic rules, so her child could get injured.
In the same way child Ranvi did not allow Little Veera to touch the fire, because he knew it would harm her. Though he picked her up and made her reach the top of the shelf, to prevent any injuries she might have got while trying to climb up.
If child Ranvi would have been today, he would not have any problem with Baldev, except that he does not have a paid job. And surely he would never have chossen Rajveer for Veera.
Not because Rajveer is a physco, creepy stalker but because he is a stranger and except his name, the fact that he is a police man and got transferred three times in five years (which gives you all the more reason to doubt him), he doesn't know anything. He would have asked everyone in the kind, go to every social media site, try to find every possible information about Rajveer, before even thinking of him as a suitable groom for Veera, let alone sharing the thoughts with the elders of the family. He would have known that Rajveer is the green signal, which is dangerous to cross.
On the other hand would be Baldev, at first child Ranvi might have hesitated, but seeing that Veera was ready to go against him, he would have agreed, because he knows Baldev since forever, he would realize that he is improved alot and also at the same time be as a support system with his sister, that if anything went wrong in their relation, he would be their to comfort her. He would have seen Baldev to be red signal which is safe to cross, but because of the childhood dushmani he would be afraid of the car that will not obey the traffic rules.
