Guess what's coming up on The Vampire Diaries Season 6 Episode 3? (Hint: It's what you would call Odysseus returning to Ithaca and stepping upon his island's white-wavelet-forming sands for the first time after many years.) If you guessed "homecoming," then you are absolutely correct. And with it? DEATH.
No, no. We're just messing around with you (maybe). However, can you blame us for being so cavalier about the lives of Mystic Falls residents? Any time anyone on this show hosts a major event of some sort, it's all Off with their heads! Toss a grenade through their gut!' Obviously, we have to crack some jokes along the way in order to survive all the grief and heartache.
That being said, judging by the new wave of photos for "The World Has Turned And Left Me Here," we have every right to be concerned about everyone's safety. It appears as though a few of our beloved character will definitely find themselves in harm's way. Not only does Jo (Jodi Lyn O' Keefe) have a deep gash on her arm, but a very rude maniac drove a stake (or some other sharp weapon with a pointy tip) through Alaric's (Matt Davis) abs. NOT COOL!
Interestingly, while they're busy panicking over their flesh wounds (not sure why since Jo is a doctor and Alaric is an immortal creature, but whatever), Elena (Nina Dobrev) is prowling around the same fields as them. Is she to blame for this attack? Let's hope not considering how she gave up all her sexy memories of Damon in order to avoid feeding on people, consuming ancient witch herbs, and spiraling out of control. (Psst, according to these spoilers a "devastating accident" occurs during this Whitmore College extravaganza.)
Thankfully, there's a photo of freshly washed Caroline (Candice Accola) bumping into Stefan and looking completely mortified " because she's wearing an itty bitty towel " to lighten the mood.
