The crowd tittered at her words and Aakash pinched Geet's cheeks making her pout.

Anjali came onto the stage, took the mike out of Naani's hands and continued, "Lekin yeh sab toh dulhon ki baatein hain. Dulhanon ka kya? Humein pata hai Raizada parivar ke kaee rishtedaar jaanna chaahte hai ki humaari dono bhabhiyaan hai kaisi? Most people assumed that the hesitance was due to nervousness but only Khushi and Arnav knew that the hesitance was because she would face Arnav standing by her sister. As the spotlight shown on her, for a second her eyes stilled on Arnav and she forgot breathing. And then suddenly, she looked away with a shiver and smiled at the crowd.

"Sab humse kehte hain ki hum bahut hi batiyaate hain. Humesha sab humein hi chup karwaate hain. Lekin aaj humein aap log nahi rok sakte. Hum aaj jee kholke bolenge!", Khushi chirped and half of the crowd gulped nervously. All thought the same thing; Jee kholke? Hey Devi Maiyya!

Khushi giggled, "Arre! Dariye mat! Hum itna bhi nahi bolenge! Hum bas apni Jiji aur Di ki taarif karenge! Humaari Paayal Jiji se hum tab mile jab hum sirf aath saal ke the. Humaare Amma Bauji chal base aur hum apni maasi ke ghar rehne aaye. Paayal Jiji ne uss waqt se humaara khayaal rakha. Humaari sabse badi taaqat bhi wahi aur humaari kamzori bhi." Khushi smiled at her sister and Paayal smiled back.

Then Khushi looked at everyone impishly, "Aapko pata hai humaari Jiji jitni shaant swabhaav ki lagti haina, utni shaant bhi nahi hai!" Paayal's eyes widened in shock while Aakash looked at his fianc with amusement and curiosity.

Everyone looked at her curiously. What happened? What Paayal did? Paayal had already turned red and Aakash kept on looking between Khushi and Paayal simultaneously, wanting to know what Paayal did.

Khushi grinned at everyone's eager expression, "Jiji andar gayi. Ek belan uthaaya. Aur baahar aakar saare ladkon ko peetne lagi!" Everyone looked at Paayal in shock. Docile Paayal beating somebody? Hey Devi Maiyya! Aakash looked at Paayal with pride. Anyone defending their family was a plus in Aakash's books. After all, family comes first.

Paayal narrowed her eyes promising retribution while Khushi very maturely stuck her tongue out making everyone laugh.

Khushi cleared her throat as her eyes turned to her other sister. Lavanya gave her a wave and Khushi winked at her. Khushi knew that Lavanya loved the spotlight and Khushi was very happy to give La her chance to shine.

Everyone from Raizada family looked at Lavanya in surprise while Lavanya beamed at them proudly.

"Khushi!", Lavanya scolded her while looking embarrassed. Everyone chuckled at her reaction and Khushi continued, "Lekin inke continental aur Italian dishes ki toh baat hi mat poocho. Woh kya haina Fashion Designing padhte waqt humaari Di Allahabad mein badi akeli pad gayi. Humse door gayi thi na padhne ke liye. Toh unhonein Cooking Classes join kiya aur uske baad jab ghar aayi toh humein aise aise dishes khilaaye jinka naam bhi hum bol nahi paate. Toh yaad rakhiye Raizada parivar waalon, Indian khaane se bore ho jaaye toh apni badi bahu ko kitchen mein bhej dena! Aapko kuch na kuch toh naya khaane ko mil hi jaayega!"

Everyone chuckled at her words. Khushi giggled along but then she sobered up, "Lekin humaari dono behne khaane pakaane aur humaare liye ladne mein hi achchi nahi hai. Woh dono toh iss poore parivaar ko jode rakhti hain. Jiji jahaan apni sehejta aur soch se hum sabka khayaal rakhti hai wahin Lavanya Di apni nayi soch se hum sabko prerna deti hai."

Khushi stopped speaking and looked below for a moment. And when she looked up, her eyes were misted with tears, "Aaj tak hum khush the ki humaari dono behno ki shaadi itne achche ghar mein ek hi din ho rahi hai. Lekin aaj humein pata chala ki unki shaadi ka matlab humaare liye kya hai? Bas teen din aur... Aur phir humaari dono behnein humein chodke apne ghar chali jaayengi. Hum akele padh jaayenge. Bahut jald humaari palang pe baithke gappa maarne ke liye humaari Lavanya Di humaare saath nahi hongi. Kitchen mein humaare saath khaana pakaane ke liye humaari Paayal Jiji humaare saath nahi hongi. Ab Lucknow ki galiyon mein golgappa khaane hum akele hi jaayenge. Bazaar mein jab humein koi kapda pasand aayega toh hum kisise bhi pooch nahi paayenge ki kya woh kapda humein jhachega. Subah subah humein jhaadu se maarke jagaane humaari Jiji nahi aayegi. Humein aur sone dene ke liye humaari Amma ko manaane Di nahi aayengi. Hum... hum..." Her throat clogged up and she sniffed softly.

For a moment there was silence as people waited for Khushi to compose herself. Every mother in the crowd who had a daughter sniffed as they all understood what Khushi was feeling and all sympathized with her. Maami sniffed as she realised that one day her Geet would also go to her husband's house. Naani hugged Anjali tightly thankful that Shyam agreed to stay with them rather than take Anjali with him to another house. Amma and Buaji grasped each other's hands tightly as it struck them at once that from now on their house will sound very lonely.

Khushi looked up with a smile on her face but it was clear for anyone to see that she was simply trying to smile but all she wanted to do was cry. She took a deep breath, "Hum bhale hi aaj aansuon mein hain, lekin hum khush hain!" She looked at all of them and then pinched her throat while looking around anxiously, "Sachchi! Hum jhoot nahi bol rahe!" Some guests chuckled.

Then Khushi smiled widely, "Hum khush hain kyunki humaari dono behnein itni achche ghar mein jaa rahi hain. Jahaan ek pyaar karne waali Naani hai, palkon pe bithaane waali do nanad hain, Maamiji jitni pyaari sasuma jo bahu ko beti samajhti hai aur Maamaji jitney achche sasur hain. Aise ghar mein humaari behnein toh itni khush hongi ki shaayad woh toh humein bhool hi jaayengi!"

Lavanya and Paayal shook their heads but Khushi pouted, "Arre rehne do Jiji! Chodo Di! Hum jaante hain ki itna achcha aur pyaar karne waala parivar milne ke baad aap dono toh humein bhool hi jaayengi. Lekin isse humein koi problem nahi hai kyun humein pata hai ki aap dono khush hain aur isse jyaada humein aur kuch nahi chaahiye!"

"Aur Aakashji", she looked at Aakash and then towards Arnav, "Arnavji! Humaari dono behnon ka dil saaf hi nahi thoda naram bhi hai toh unka dil kabhi mat todiyega!"

Only Arnav knew the double meaning of her line and he looked away. Khushi continued to speak with tears in her eyes but with a wide smile on her lips, "Bas humaari yahi dua hai ki yeh dono jodiyaan salaamat rahe!"

Saying her piece she got down the stage only to be accosted by her sisters who hugged her tightly. All three had tears running down her cheeks. Anjali walked towards them and patted Paayal on her back, "Arre! Tum teeno bas karo! Kuch aansu bidaai ke liye bhi chod do!" All three girls chuckled as Anjali's words created the effect she was trying for. A loud round of applause started as Khushi faced the crowd with Paayal on one side and Lavanya on the other. All three girls smiled happily as they hugged each other again.
