They should really get some life and Preeti is willing to sacrifise her happiness for prem!!..Why can't you understand Preeti that Prem is your life and you guys will be incomplete if you separate it!! Please hope she doesn't sacrifice her happiness and if she does it is going to be her mistake!!..Hope they don't get separate it!!..Please continue soon dear!!..

Chapter 5

A few hours later Preeti had succeeded in packing her clothes she needed for her stay. She zipped the medium sized bag and took a small glance towards her small watch around her wrist.

It was just past 6 in the evening and she knew Prem was on his way to pick her up.

She got down to the front doors and waited patiently.

The young couple, Vinod and Sapna, was coming out from the kitchen and noticed their female friend waiting for someone.

Vinod shared a brief look with her wife and wore a slight smirk on his lips once approaching her.

"Oh, where do you think you're going Miss Preeti?"

She smirked as she crossed her arms across her chest.

"I'm going out for a bit, why do you mind, Mr. Vinod?" she said in the same tone.

He took a step back faking a look of surprise on his face.

"So much attitude? So straight forward in your words? Who are you, and what have you done to Preeti we all know?"

She laughed at his words. "Oh I can guarantee you that I'm the same woman."

Sapna joined the conversation, trying not to laugh. "Nah, I think Prem has changed you one way or another, huh?"

"You are right wifey," Vinod said once wrapping a shoulder around her.

Preeti rolled her eyes watching them both, but before she could say anything to them, they heard a loud horn coming from outside.

They saw that Prem had arrived. He parked the car at the drive way and caught the brunet's eyes.

Soon enough they were already on the road driving toward the destination Prem had in mind.

They did not drive toward her house instantly. He made turn around the corner and drove down the long road.

While driving, he gently reached for her hand and placed it on the gear so they both could change it together. It was a gesture from his side whenever they were out for a drive.

Her expression softened when she could feel his skin caress hers, yet she turned her attention toward the passing buildings and trees.

"You should put both of your hand on the steering wheel," she said as he still held on to her.

"Don't worry, I can drive like this," he told her in a proud manner.

"I'm sure you can."

"I can do much more than this if you want to know," he said lightly.

Her cheeks started to add color but quickly shook the thoughts away. Trust Prem to act like this only in front of her.

She looked back through the window and noticed the place they had come to. They weren't at the house, but at a big park where a breach was located right next to it.

He parked the car once he found a spot and turned off the engine. He shot her a smile as they both climbed out.

Preeti hesitated but took a long look at her surroundings. She had to admit that she fell in love with it.

The greenery around them settled a feeling of belonging. The air was fresh and she couldn't believe that Prem had taken her to a place like this.

"Come on," he said as they both walked further down the park enjoying the calmness.

It was like the heaven had melted all kind of colors together, indicating that anyone could fall back to each other despite who you were and what you had been though.

It was indeed a beautiful evening they both were witness to.

On the way, they found a small shop where they decided to buy some ice cream while they were taking a walk. They both got their ice creams with their own chosen flavors.

He decided to have chocolate and pastiche while Preeti chose strawberry and mango.

They made their way down to the beach as they enjoyed their desserts.

They came to a halt now finished with their desserts. The brunet woman stood facing the dark blue water enjoying the beautiful view.

Neither of them spoke for a while, clearly enjoying the silence between them. The only sound they could hear was the water coming into land and splashing back home to its sea.

She closed her eyes as a gentle smile was playing across her delicate lips.

Prem stood watching her for a short minute. Her long dark brown hair was floating gentle around her shoulders and she was looking beyond beautiful to him.

"There's something about coming to a place like this, where you feel complete with yourself and alive as well at some point," she spoke while her eyes were still closed.

"You close your eyes and the only thing your mind had access to is the sound of calmness around you, the water, the sky and the earth. It's all what you want to hear - nothing more, nothing less," he answered her.

She opened her eyes couldn't help but feel amazed by the answer she had gotten. However she saw him staring back at her wearing a smile at the corner of his mouth.

Prem took a step back and held out a hand for her, "Being complete with yourself does not necessary mean by standing still," he paused slightly upon reading her expression. She already understood what he was hinting toward.

"There are other ways to achieve that," he spoke almost like a whisper even though they were pretty much alone at the beach.

She bit her lip as she hesitated but nevertheless, she slipped her hand into his as he gripped it softly, bringing her closer.

His strong arm was draped around her slim waist as his other was holding into hers.

Her hand was however not resting on his shoulder, but on his upper arm, trying to catch up with the slow moves he was leading. He made sure that it went in a slow manner and guided her through the steps.

Once he knew that she had caught up, he reached out to place his hand on hers which was resting on his upper arm, and guided her fingers up to his shoulder where it came to halt.

What Prem didn't know was the fact that mind was going crazy at that very minute. She could easily feel his muscles under the black dress shirt he was wearing.

She also noticed that the top buttons were undone as always, giving her the perfect glance at his smooth trained chest.

He caught her eyes and smirked slightly when he realized what she was thinking. So he decided to speed up a bit in their dancing. By doing that they both earned a few smiles and laughs from each other.

Preeti caught what he was trying to do. Clearly they were both playing mind games on each other - and honestly, they liked it.

"Now, you're trying to tease me," she said.

"I might be."

A soft laugh escaped her lips and shook her head, "it's not fair."

"I know" he said matter of fact when he caught her brown eyes just like the way he had hoped in a situation like this.

He held her gaze; she couldn't stop herself from starring at them. She lowered her eyes and buried her head in his chest.

He couldn't help but grin as he placed an arm around her shoulders and made their way back to their car.

They drove to her father's house and within 20 minutes, they had reached the destination. They both climbed out from the car as the brunet woman watched her husband take out her luggage from the backseat.

They stood outside the front door as he placed the luggage on the ground beside her. "Don't feel like letting you go."

Preeti smiled gently by the words. "It's just for a few days, besides I'm sure you'll survive just fine," she joked.

"I'm not sure if I can this time," he said looking at her.

"Tell you what? I'll write you a letter if that'll make you feel any better," she said with a hint of sarcasm in her voice.

His face broke into a light laugh as he walked backwards toward the car. "You better."

With that he climbed in and drove off.

Preeti shook her head and turned her attention on the black door in front of her.

She knocked on it and soon enough she was greeted by her father.

Her father's face broke into a huge smile.

"Preeti? What a pleasant surprise, what are you doing here?" he asked.

"I guess I've been missing this place for a while. I thought why not pay a small visit." she told her father.

Pritam found a black piece of luggage beside her. "Did Prem drop you off? You should have invited him as well."

"He had a long day, and I thought he could come over some other time."

He nodded as he helped her inside the living room. They settled around the coffee table while she took a small glance around the house.

"How is everything going? Not too busy at the clinic?"

She shook her head. "It's alright. This is after all what I love to do."

He nodded and couldn't help but admire her daughter for a short while. Time had flown by without even realizing it.

It was an honor from his side to watch Preeti grow up to become a beautiful woman on her own.

What he was most happy about was the fact that she had gotten married to someone who loved her unconditionally. He knew he would keep her happy no matter. And it was important especially at a time like this they were going through.

However a voice made him return back to reality. "Dad, I'm going up to my room to rest a bit."

Her father nodded. "We'll talk in the morning."

She stood up from the seat and went to her old room. Once she opened the room everything was the way she had left. On the table there were a few pictures of her childhood and collage days.

The light cream colored curtains were swaying gently by the window.

Preeti took a silent glance around on each and every thing which was visible before her. How she had missed being here.

This was the place where she had grown up. Her thoughts went to her father as she realized that he was all alone living here - but she was happy to know that they all shared a close relationship between the two families.

Part of her missed her mother who had passed away when she was just a baby girl. Even though she had not seen her, she still missed the warmth and gentleness only a mother could give.

She sighed gently, remembering why she was here at the first place. The truth was that she had missed her father but there was another purpose of her coming home too.

She had arrived by the thought that her husband and another woman could bond and perhaps start a life together.

How could she even do this? Let alone stand the thought of her husband was spending time with another woman - which she approved of?

She felt her legs give in, as she stumbled down on the bed.

She couldn't even complete the thought. She wondered if this was the right choice or not, but she had to stick to the idea. She had made her mind and she was going to stick with it - it was for the best.

Preeti shook her head and decided to let her mind rest for the night.

To Be Continued!

Chapter 6:

A few days later, back in the Ram-Kishan household everyone were enjoying the dinner in the evening. Mamta had made various meals which she knew everyone were fond of.

Once completing the dinner, Priya stood up from her seat and went toward the kitchen to make some tea and coffee.

As she was done, she came inside the dining room. "Anyone who wants some coffee or tea?" she asked.

Vinod and Sangeeta both pointed at their brother. "Prem will."

Prem shook his head. "No, it's fine. I'll manage without it this time."

"What no? You like to drink coffee after dinner don't you?"

Mrs. Leela couldn't help but smirk as she watched her daughter walk up to him.

Priya smiled as she poured coffee for him. "I guess you still like it strong as always?" she assumed.

He smiled as she shook his head. "Not anymore," he said while reaching for the milk.

She gave the thermos of coffee further to the others sitting around the table.

"Well, you used to like it in the collage days." She said while sporting a light smirk.

"True, but a lot has happened since then," he said as Prem took a sip from the hot coffee.

"Sure, but I guess some things still remain the same," she said as her eyes lingered on him for a short while.

Prem didn't notice anything by the gesture but someone else did.

The person couldn't help but think as if something was wrong. Something was going in the wrong direction, but what was it?

However later in the evening, they elder of the family moved to the living room. Mrs. Leela was talking about some kind of medicine she needed to buy for herself. Mamta's eyes caught her son walking down the stairs.

"Prem, are you heading out? I was wondering if you could bring some medicine for Leela here."

"Sure. What kind of medicine is it?" he asked as he turned his attention on her mother's old friend.

"It's for my blood pressure. Do you mind if Priya comes along with you? The thing is that she knows what kind of medicine I take."

He nodded once smiling. "Sure, no problem."

She called after her daughter a few times. "Priya. Priya?"

She came out from her room. "Honey, can you go with Prem to get my medicine?"

"Sure" she smiled as they both nodded.

They went outside toward Prem's car as they got inside and headed toward the store.

The first half of the ride, they drove in complete silence. It was however broken by her voice.

"It's been a long time since we've been this alone, huh?" she joked.

"I guess," he said as he changed the gear of the car.

She took a long pause before speaking. "Are you happy Prem? I mean in your marriage?"

"Of course, why do you ask?"

"Oh I don't know, I just noticed that you've been quite in the last few days. You do know that we're friends, so that means that you can tell me anything."

"I appreciate the concern, Priya, but I'm fine. I guess I've just been caught up with work lately."

She nodded and noticed that they had arrived at the store. He parked the car by the road as they got both got out.

Before they could enter the store, Prem could feel his phone ringing in the pocket of his jeans. He picked it up without realizing who was calling.

"Hello?"

"Hello, Prem."

"Preeti."

Priya stopped in her track upon hearing her name from his lips. She simply couldn't believe her own ears.

Why in the world would call him at precise moment they were having a decent conversation? Was destiny playing a cruel mind game with her? Couldn't she leave her husband alone for a whole day?

"Are you busy? Am I calling in a bad time?"

"No, it's never a bad time hearing your voice," he spoke through the phone as he signaled to Priya that she could go in and buy the medicine she needed for her mother.

Priya tightened her hold on her small brown leather wallet as she made it inside the store. Her eyes were somehow never leaving Prem who stood outside talking to Preeti. She noticed how he had smiled the very first minute he had heard her voice.

She shook her head and managed to get what she needed. She returned back to the car where he was still talking to her on the phone.

She got inside the car and slammed the door shut.

She never understood why Prem never noticed her in the collage days. They were friends, but he had never shown any kind of affection toward her. She was popular and very smart woman. Priya had some great friends while studying, and she always wondered why he hadn't seen her as something more than just a mere friend.

However she almost didn't notice that Prem had climbed inside and started to drive toward the house.

After 10 minutes, he parked the car outside the house. Priya couldn't get her mind off the thought which was troubling her a few minutes ago. She didn't like it at all.

She therefore stopped Prem from entering the house.

"Prem."

He turned around and wore a confused expression. She took a deep breath once showing a small sad smile.

"I know what happened between you and Preeti. And I know how hard it must be for you to know such thing. But I just wanted to let you know that I'm here for you if you ever need anything."

With that she opened the front door and walked inside with the medicine in hand.

Prme stood back slightly puzzled by the statement, but he decided not to put too many thoughts into it.

They made it inside where they heard voices coming from the garden area. It was a warm evening and why not spent it outside.

Prem sat down beside his mother when he noticed that everyone were busy talking with each other.

He however remained silent by some reason. Mamta, being the mother, reached out where she placed her hand on his.

"What's wrong?"

"Nothing Ma."

Sangeeta who joined the conversation couldn't help but ask, "Missing your dear wife now are you?"

Prem rolled his eyes.

"Of course he is, I mean I bet they're calling each other non-stop," Vinod said.

"Please, he's not like you who was constantly ringing Sapna during your guys engagement," Vivek joked lightly.

Sapna felt her cheek getting burn by the memories.

"Hey, that was purely business talk!" Vinod defended.

"I'm sure it is."

Sangeeta wore a light smirk as she crossed her arms and began to tease her brother.

"I'm very curious to know just how many times you call her - 4, 8 or 10 times in a day?"

"Just wait till I get my hands on you," he stood up and began to chase her around, while she tried her best to avoid being cached.

Everyone else were rooting and laughing by the incident before them.

-----

Sadhna had just placed her son on the bed as he had somehow fallen asleep during the evening. She tucked him and turned off the light where the only faint lamp beside the night stand was kept on.

She then returned back to her own bedroom where she found her husband getting ready for bed. She was rather lost in her own thought that she didn't notice Vivek calling her name. "Sadhna?"

"Huh?"

"You okay? What are you thinking?"

She bit her lip and debated whether to tell him what she had in mind. "Actually, I was thinking about Priya."

"Priya?" he asked puzzled. "What about her?"

"I don't why, I feel like her intentions are not good. I noticed something off with her during the dinner table. It's like she's trying to spend time with Prem, but I don't know.. It was just a feeling I had."

Vivek took a minute to study her words. "They're close friends from collage, maybe she's just being friendly? I mean I'm sure nothing is wrong."

She nodded as she shook the thought away from her mind. "You're probably right."
