Hi Radhika Di,
Nice post.😊I am again left with mixed feelings here.I also wanted the old Jalal back but not at the cost of change in his personal equations with Jodha especially. I am not bothered about Ruk. I have just one word for Ruk-OTT. she's OTT in everything she does.CVs have turned against history once again. There's the confusion of the three year leap as well.😕I didn't like Ruk putting all the blame on Jodha so to see it coming from Jalal was even more annoying. Moreover, she was accepting all of it without a word in protest. Ok I understand she's shattered but still. Wouldn't she have been more hurt seeing Jalal blaming her too? Even if we later see that he didn't mean it and was just lashing out at her for he felt at home with her. If he loves her, it doesn't mean he too starts treating her like a doormat. Here we were all waiting to see him take a stand for Jodha and shut Ruk up too but nothing. I hated the cold shoulder he gave to Jodha and drawing the curtain on her face was 🤢. I was pained to see Jodha who was already devastated but still came to him out of concern but what did he do? Instead of being her strength, he is blaming her. This was the time when they should have been with each other and that is how it was na. I hated seeing him abusing Jodha. Blaming everything on her as if he wasn't there. If he so wanted Jodha to be with Hussein then he should have firmly told her to go to him or get Hussein there too but he didn't so his actions and blames aren't justified. They both are feeling guilty here, so instead of the blame game, they should have come together and supported each other. Take each other out of that guilt and strengthen their bond. I had said this in my last post that CVs showed their 2nd union so that they can show them wallowing in guilt. This should have been something to be treasured and not regretted.I like this Jalal, a mere mention of whose name struck fear in the hearts of his enemies, but not at the cost at which he came. Not at all. This Jalal was very much needed who was ruthless and brave as well as benevolent and kind. That balance I so want to see will come later on hopefully. There's another side to this too. Many on the forum share these thoughts too.All this guilt and anger is nothing but a farce for he is in pain too. He is deliberately saying such harsh words to Jodha and keeping her away for he loves her and perhaps he is scared now. He has lost way too many people he has loved and now his kids too. Probably it's his insecurity that is giving rise to this behaviour of his.You tend to say harsh words to the people you love when you are in extreme pain.He is hurting himself by hurting Jodha. He is hurt and shattered beyond imaginable points. He has been stabbed in the back time and again by his own relatives. This must hurt. This is probably even harder for him than Jodha because he has been dealing with loss, treachery and pain since his childhood whereas Jodha hasn't. She has always been treated with love and has been protected by her family in Amer and now Jalal is doing that for her in Agra. I am not saying her pain is any less just that Jalal has been bearing the scars for vey long now. His patience has gone for a toss. She has never been subjected to conspiracies, deceit and hurt.He is venting out his anger and frustration at others. He has failed as a father which he isn't able to accept. The war is also to divert his mind nothing else. He can only be at peace with himself when he accepts that what has happened was destined to happen even if he and Jodha hadn't spent the night together. He has to come out of that guilt alongwith Jodha, who is blaming herself big time at the moment.I somehow couldn't miss the evident longing in the tilak scene. As much as both of them were against each other, they were still one. I say so because he literally shouted like crazy(it was funny though) when Ruk offered to do the tilak saying only Jodha will do it as it has always been her. He wants none other to take her place even in a small case like this. Similarly, Jodha did his tilak when HB asked her to do it for her husband's safety. This is because she still loves him and cares for him even if they have grown apart for a short time. Somewhere I think she understands the reason behind his harsh words. He was momentarily shocked when Jodha cut her finger and looked shaken when he turned to leave.P.S. I am not justifying his cruel words here. Just putting up a different POV.This is CVs way of depicting 'epic love'. From hatred to love and back to hatred now to make way for love again. This isn't epic from any angle now.
beautifully said..
