Can Fawad Khan recreate the magic as Ashar Hussain in Humsafar?

The one name that took the Indian television industry by storm in recent times is that of Fawad Khan. The 32-year-old actor, coming from across the border, immediately became a household name with the run of his first TV series Zindagi Gulzar Hai in India on the Zindagi channel. After enjoying success with this daily and his Bollywood debut Khoobsurat, Fawad is all set to return to the TV screens with yet another hit series. Titled Humsafar, the new TV show premieres on October 14 at 8.00 pm on Zindagi. Fawad will be seen in the role of the suave, Yale-returned Ashar Hussain and his love story will be with Khirad Hussain played by the lovely Mahira Khan.

Fawad Khan's journey in India has been remarkable so far and one would give him credit for his role of the charming Zaroon Junaid from Zindagi Gulzar Hai. Audiences, especially the females, instantly fell for his graciousness and delightful personality. After a long time, a character made such an impact on TV and gave memorable moments. The way Fawad portrayed Zaroon Junaid's character of a carefree, pleasing and totally in love guy with someone of a different ideology made girls go gaga over him. His chemistry with co-star Sanam Saeed in the role of Kashaf Murtazaevoked real emotions. Now with the return of Fawad on TV again, a lot would be expected of him.

In Humsafar, Fawad will be seen playing the role of Ashar Hussain who falls in love with Khirad Hussain in a story that shows the two are married off forcefully against their wishes. Humsafar follows the stories of two individuals falling in love, the tragedy of drifting apart and again being united by fate.

We have seen Fawad play the adorable hero in an opposites attract' scenario of Zindagi Gulzar Hai, but we will get to watch him play a passionate, romantic guy in Humsafar.

One would expect Fawad Khan to recreate the same magic on screen with his role of Ashar Hussain, the same way Zaroon Junaid became the most talked about character. His chemistry with Sanam Saeed was brilliant and loved by all in Zindagi Gulzar Hai, and one would hope to see the same aura being created by the new couple - Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan in Humsafar.
