AbhiGya with Aadi

"Papa!"

Abhi stopped short of climbing the stairs as he heard his son's voice coming from the sofa in the hallway.

"Aadi!? Champ what are you doing here in the middle of the night? I was just on my way to your room... Does Mumma know you are here? Why are you sleeping here in the hall?"

He went to his son and scooped him up in his arms.

"Papa I was waiting for you! I haven't seen you for three days... And I miss you!"

"Oh Aadi... You know I missed you more!" Abhi lovingly caressed the bouncing curls on his son's forehead and placed a kiss on his temple.

"No Papa... I missed you more and more and more!" Abhi laughed at Aadi's antics as he searched his jacket pockets.

"Okay Champ you know what I got for you? Okay close your eyes! No cheating okay? Huh... Okay done! Now open your eyes!"

Aadi opened his eyes to see him wearing a dog tag exactly like his Rockstar Papa!

"You got it!? Thank you Papa! I love you!"Aadi hugged his Papa tightly and then began to match his one with his Papa's.

"Okay now get up! Today I will tuck you in! And you got to sleep now. Tomorrow have to go to school! Remember!?"

School!? Oh no!

"Papa! You know your song..."

"Which one beta?" Abhi asked as he carried Abhi to his room.

"Oh Papa Happy love wala..."

"Yaa..."

"Papa you will have to sing it for me! It is my most most favourite song in the whole world! I listen to it every day!"

"Really?"

"Yes Papa!" Pat came Aadi's reply.

"Hmm see that is why you are my favourite son in the world!" Abhi said as he put Aadi on his bed.

"Hahaha... But Papa I am your ONLY son in the world!"

"Achcha! So smart ha!? Just like your Papa!" Abhi started to tickle his son's belly.

"Papa..." Abhi heard Aadi's voice getting serious and looked down to see his forehead all scrunched up with worry.

"What's up Champ!? Tell me..."

"Papa will you come to school with me tomorrow?"

"School? Of course I would come to drop you!"

"No Papa you always drop me na... This is different! You would have to come inside..."

"But Aadi you know your strict mumma right? Remember she forbade me to go to your school! Remember last time I came there every teacher, parent, student came to see me? She said she doesn't want you to get "being a celebrity's son" into your head or something... Remember?"

"She is not strict papa!"

"Oi Mumma ka chamcha... Now stop all this! And go to sleep okay... I know she is right! You are already such a brat..."Abhi teased his son again while tucking him in.

"And listen I will come to drop you tomorrow but champ I don't think your Mumma will allow me to go inside the school... So you will have to talk to her..okay? Good night! Love you Rockstar!"

"Yeh Aadi bhi na... Just like his Papa!"

Pragya muttered to herself as she collected all the clothes strewn all over the room.

"Mumma"

Pragya turned towards the voice and found herself looking at her 5 year old son already dressed in his uniform. Now what is he upto! He hates going to school!

"Mumma... I brushed my teeth, had a bath and changed cloths all by myself!" Aadi said proudly.

Pragya could not help smiling as she picked her Aadi and made him stand on his bed.

"Achcha! Good boy!" Pragya kissed his forehead lovingly and started to redo his shirt buttons which he had buttoned up all wrong.

"Mumma I was thinking..."

"Hmm..."

"Will you read me a story from your book today?"

"My book?"

"Yaa... The one you got an award for..."

"Achcha... You want to read that? Really?"

"Haan Mumma... You know it is really good! I haven't read it but I know it is very very good...and that is only because you wrote it Mumma!"

"Really? Sachchi?"

"Haan Mumma sachchi!"

Aadi was surprised to see his Mumma bursting out laughing. Why!

"Are mera bachcha! Buttering me up huh?" Pragya planted a quick kiss on her adorable son's cheek before she started her interrogation.

"Okay Aadi tell me what happened? And this time the truth okay!"

"Mumma but sachchi your book IS good..."

"Aadi..."

"Okay Mumma... I will tell you. Today you will have to come to school with me!"

"To school? But why? Oh Aadi... Please tell me they didn't send you back to Principal's office! I mean I don't understand how you manage to do it every week! Don't you do any studying at school?"

"But Mumma it is not my fault!"

"Oh every time it is not your fault!"

"But Mumma you and Aaliyah buwa always tell me Sonu is like my own sister... I have to protect her..."

"What happened to Sonu?"

"Well, Mumma there is this boy in our class... He pushed Sonu yesterday. She could have got hurt Mumma... So I hit him..."

"Aadi! But why did you hit him? I know it is wrong to push someone, especially a girl... But you can't just hit someone like that beta... It is also wrong na... You could have told your teacher!"

"But Mumma... Sonu was crying!"

She would have to call Aaliyah and see whether Sonu is okay. It is quite expected for Aadi to react this way if indeed Sonu was in any kind of problem... After all he loves his cousin so much... But I cannot justify what he did... Violence is not the answer to anything. I will have to make him understand.

"Aadi beta, that boy was wrong... I agree! But you were wrong too beta... So this is what we are going to do okay? I will come to school with you today but then you would have to apologize for hitting him. And I would talk to his mother about his behaviour too okay?"

Pragya saw her Aadi nodding his head reluctantly.

Okay so he is not happy with my decision! Huh... I know you too well beta!

Now you will go to your plan B! Or rather back to plan A! Because I know you must have spoken to your papa already and now you will somehow get your Papa to come with you!

I can already see your naughty brain starting to make a plan! And knowing both of you too well I can already say you are going to succeed this time... He is way too soft with you...

But beta mein bhi aapka Mumma hu... I will speak to Abhishek first and make him understand...

Laughing to herself, Pragya left the room to find her Rockstar husband.

really loved the story diahh! abhi has exactly the bond i would imagine for him and his cute but sly son, and pragya as the responsible parents also fits perfectly. aadi was adorable but also obviously his spirited dad's kid!! and aww you gave him a cousin sister to protect, that is wonderful!! honestly i don't think i can specify enough things, i basically just loved everything! so happy to see this glimpse of a cheerful family life for abhigya, and thank you thank you for writing with aadi! really enjoyed the story and will surely reread over time 😊 👍🏼
