There is your answer Its all about money . 😛😛😛

An we have seen films like Kites where a hyped film takes a truly good opening and then crashes cause it sucks . Whether Ready or Rowdy Rathore sucked is debatable (I loathed them) but we can not deny that these films never crashed at the BO so they were liked by majority of fans . As for my personal preference well I watch whatever films I like but if I hear a film is a big hit and popular I might check it out 😉

It's not like I'm getting any of that money, it's all about if I enjoyed the movie!
But I have to say sometimes it's fun watching these mindless action films on the big screen!

Arree baba kisiko koi degree ya Phd leneka hain kya movie dekhne ke baad?... As long as we get full on entertainment.. No complains...
It really beats me, what's all this hate for masala movies?

I magine from a common man's perspective, after a long days work/ work week he doesn't want to go to a theatre and watch a depressing/slow movie.. It aint gonna uplift his mood.. so obviously he/she chooses fun/entertaining movie...

And no one needs to justify why they like certain genre... They are paying for their ticket to watch it, no one else is, so its their choice😃

I think the crore thing is such a joke. The focus on crore is also a joke. Look how obsessed people are in this forum with their star's movies making more money. Good movies do not make the big numbers these days, the bad, cheesy commercial ones do. So why even act shocked when a bad movie made money. Good Movie does not mean more money.

I think people have different tastes, so its obviously hard to answer the question. We also have to understand that certain movies carry weight, budget, and stardom. Queen for example became a hit not because it hit the 100cr mark, but because it surpassed its budget. If a film had a 200 cr budget and only made 150 cr its still a flop. Atleast this is the way I see it. Another thing is how crazy people are about the stars, SRK, SALMAN just have sooo many fans, they are going to watch regardless of how flop the actual storyline is.
But apart from all of the money talk, for me I go by word of mouth, or my personal judgement. I wouldn't watch Kick, but I might watch bang bang. It just depends on preference. But I definitely will watch Haider, because appreciate shakespeare and Hamlet, when making it VB probably knew it wouldn't hit 100 cr mark, regardless it might go down in history as a great movie.

It just depends... Masala movies are more fun on the big screen, vs some movies are better watched alone to ponder about...some have great cinematography like Highway and are amazing on big screen, but just because people thought it was going to be "weird" before seeing it, people decided not to go. It was such a good story. Audiences confuse me, this whole BW system of measuring a good movie confuses me utterly, so don't feel bad I am on the same boat.
