Q You are playing Ram Kapoor's son in Kyunki. What's the character like? Billy Thakral is a modern, no-nonsense and ruthless investment banker. He is a positive character but he means business and speaks to the point. Q Describe Billy's relationship with his father ? It's a very strange father-son relationship. The father is more attached to his cats than his son. If Billy wants to meet him he needs an appointment. Q What attracted you to the character and the serial? Oh, it's a lovely role and there is a huge track planned for the character. Billy is quite different from characters like Eklavya and Ansh. In fact, the character has been introduced to take the story to a different dimension. Kyunki so far has revolved only around the Virani family, but now for the first time another family has been introduced. Obviously there is going to be conflict between the Viranis and Thakrals. Q Is there any past connection between the Viranis and Thakrals or Tulsi and J R Thakral? There has to be, I guess. The cards will be opened gradually. We are waiting for the audiences reaction before opening up new tracks. Q How will Billy's character shape up? Will he become negative? There will be a love angle. Billy will then become more powerful and will start using this power on other characters. With power comes the negative streak. Q In Awaarapan you have played a negative role. Do you find negative roles more challenging? I fit into negative characters well. Also I have a heavy voice that goes well with negative characters. In Awaarapan which is my first film I have played Ashutosh Rana's son. The film deals with a conflict between Emraan (Hashmi) and Ashutosh. But in the second half I emerge as the main villain. Q Do you believe in planning your career? No, it doesn't work. Never chart out your career. Planning works only in your personal life. Plan to buy a car, house or to get married. Career takes its own course. |
