Haider Has Decent First Week

Haider grossed a decent 35 crore nett in its extended eight day first week and held up fairly well over the eight days but the problem for the film is its very niche and the collections are coming mainly from the premium multiplexes so there is a limit to where the film can go.

The film has done its best business in the Delhi NCR belt with the Delhi/UP and East Punjab circuits recording decent figures, Mysore was also fair while West Bengal was helped by holidays for Puja. Mumbai circuit was the disappointment as Mumbai city and Pune should have done better. The mass circuits were dull.

Haider will have a decent hold in week two and should have lifetime business of around 50 crore nett which is an average result..

Why is BOI calling 50cr average? Anything more than 30cr for such a film is great.

Budget is 37 cr so share will be less than the budget. Mary Kom had 15 cr budget(pre-publicity) and did similar business. Only got semi-hit tag.

37cr? Wow! How did they have such a high budget when Shahid and Vishal didnt even take their fees. The rest of the actors wouldnt have charged much plus it was all shot in India. I thought budget would be less than 20cr.

Yes they are harsh...mostly based on what distributors paid I guess.

Kapoor, along with Bhardwaj and UTV Motion Pictures, each have a 33.3% share in the film. The budget for the film is

37 crore (US$6.0 million), with

22 crore (US$3.6 million) going into the production of the film and

15 crore (US$2.4 million) for promotion.

They should have really had lower budgets. Such films hardly make more than 30cr unless they are light-hearted and enjoy positive WOM like Queen.
