A prayer for the future

These are tragic times for Jodha-Jalal. The pain and suffering of losing a child is something that cannot be described by words. However, only God knows why some have to endure this pain ... And we all know that both Jodha-Jalal and their bond with each other will only grow stronger coming out of this experience as this pain will strengthen their bond with the Divine. That can be the only purpose.

I do not know if many know but the Ghazal singer Late Jagjit Singh and Chitra Singh lost their only son in a car accident ... They remained childless. Since the accident, Chitra Singh stopped singing. But, Jagjit Singh continued ... And I always felt there was a new depth to his singing after that point. Fittingly, his first album after his son's demise was "Man Jeetey Jagjit" , a spiritual album ... And I too hope, the CVs will show the journey of love and spirituality through which Jodha and Jalal forged on in the journey of life.

Till then, here is a prayer by Jagjit Singh that I dedicate to Jodha and Jalal ... And all those suffering in the world today.
It is a song called "Garaj Baras" (which can be translated as "Rain shower" in an album appropriately called Insight. Here is a link: http://youtu.be/4HRKN7LgbJk

Here is the song (My attempt at English translations in italics) ... I feel so many parts of the song suited the situation at hand ... Including Jodha's anguish at her Kanhaa ... And the religious unity in this song is beautiful.

Garaj baras pyaasi dharati par phir paani de maulaa
chidiyo ko daane, bachcho ko gud_dhaani de maulaa

Let rains shower and may the thirsty Earth again have water, o God
Let the birds have seeds, and children have sweets, o God

do aur do kaa jod hameshaa chaar kahaan hotaa hai?
soch-samajh vaalo ko thodi naadaani de maulaa

Do two and two always add up to four?
For those who are too learned, give them innocence, o God

phir roshan kar zahar kaa pyaalaa, chamakaa nayi salibe
jhutho ki duniyaa me sach ko taabaani de maul

Brighten the cup with poison, and polish the new crosses again (for the courageous)
In a world of lies, give power to truth, O God

phir murat ke baahar aakar chaaro or bikhar jaa
phir mandir ko koi mira divaani de maulaa

Again come out of your statue and spread in all four directions
And give the temple a Meera (devotee like her), O God

tere hote koyi kisi ki jaan kaa dushman kyo ho
jine vaalo ko marane ki aasaani de maulaa

With You being there, how can anyone be the enemy of another's life?
For those who live, give them an easier, peaceful death, O God

Please share your thoughts.

For those who are learned, give them innocence. Very much the need of the hour Magal. For JJ, well I don't even know how they must be feeling, probably numb for a bit.

Chitti 🤗Yes, I love that line ... I often need to remind myself of it. It reminds me of my favorite quote from Bawarchi "It is so simple to be happy yet so difficult to be simple"

Yes , we cannot feel JJ's pain ... Or the pain of any parent in this situation ... We can only pray for the future

Nice song dedication and observations.

It was gut wrenching to see the pain in today's episode yaar. Very beautifully portrayed by both Rajat and Paridhi - the pain of parents losing their kids. It was especially great acting coz... both these actors are not yet parents in real life, still they managed to make it look so damn real on screen.

I distinctly remember episodes of Kasam Se where Jai & Bani lose their twin children. Ekta is a veteran of such scenes - tear jerker and a TRP topper. I couldnt' sleep for a couple of days as I also had a toddler in my house too. Now, I have grown up and matured to not take it to heart.

I totally understand how Abhay feels about history being maligned in the name of NR for Ekta's TRP gain and profits. But, am used to this, where, if I see a BT show I try to only focus on the actors acting skills. Thats all.

It was painful to watch Jalal trying to calm his beloved Jodha but himself broken - the hand holding, hugs and their talks thru their sorrow and tears were all just adorable. I feel so bad, coz... we know history where their second child is also gonna die.

But, as you said, it did make them spiritual and closer in love than ever before. They did have few more kids and a waaris ofcourse. BTW, did you notice there has not been any soul talks for sometime now.

In today's terms, there are too many people and celebrities who were torn apart after their child passed away. Like your own example, Chitra Singh I think went into depression and parted ways from Jagjit. Same thing happened to actor Prakash Raj and also dancer / choreographer Prabhu Deva. I can list lot many. Ofcourse, there are ordinary millions who have come out of this trauma stronger, even in my own family.

The reasons behind the death may be NR ... but the pain is real
It is part of the Jodha-Jalal life experience ... this is real

after a long time this was real. true Magal. Finally we could connect with JJ. All inhibitions were gone and they were pretty naked but so dignified even then because it was a jodi, not one person wailing.

Agreed, it was very real Chitti but very dignified as you say ... as Goldilocks (and someone like me would say) it was just right
