TVD S6 Premiere: Review

The premiere definitely, if nothing else, blew my mind. 😆 When it started, all I could think about was how different it seemed and how much I liked the difference. Am I the only one who got the "feels like a different show except it's the same show" feeling? The storyline of the new season hasn't even began and I already love it which is a positive sign after the crappy roller coaster ride we were put on for season 5. There's a couple things that stood out to me and here they are. 😃

• Elena. That girl broke my heart. Her inability to come to terms with Damon's death just absolutely broke me. Her need to see him, talk to him, even if it's not real, made me realize why I was a Delena fan. They need each other. Her method of coping with it however, is unhealthy and it was very scary. Or I think hallucinogenic Damon was very scary. 😆 Especially the part where she says goodbye to him and yet, he challenges her, questions her and refuses to leave her alone.

• Moving on to Stefan, it's best if I say less. Right now, i have nothing nice to say about him except that maybe he's trying to cope in his own way as well? But that's all i can say without bashing him outright at the moment.

• Matt. Ohmygoodness. *fans self* He's got my attention for more than just his blue eyes now. 🤪 Not only is he the new 'responsible Mystic Falls protector', he's also become a real treat for the eyes. Jeremy however.. I see Season 1 Jeremy back. Even his hair. *shudders* I hated that hair.
  

• Finally, the ending. Can we please pretend the ending never happened? Because I think it broke something in me. Elena's plead to Alaric to compel her to forget that she loved Damon.. I couldn't watch it. My ship is broken, torn apart. 💔 I was hoping she'd be able to deal with it without us having to lose our Delena all over again.

• And as if that wasn't a big enough blow, we're shown Bonnie and Damon having breakfast together with smiley face pancakes.. making jokes about how much Bonnie hates the smiley faces he puts on them. 😳 Yeah, okay. First of all, where are they? Second of all, why are they so happy when their friends and family are damaged to the extent that they can't even communicate with one another anymore? I mostly question this because I've never been a Bamon fan and Season 6 is obviously the season of Bamon so Bamon fans, rejoice! Damon and his little birdie. *sigh* Damn the books.

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't excited for next Thursday. Thank you TVD, for not failing me like last season. I appreciate it. 😆 ..and the fact that I paused my studying to write this out... 🤣

I love everything you wrote. Totally my feelings. I loved everyone in the episode. But Nina Dobrev had me teary with her awesome powerpack performance. Elena was the best of all. I couldn't believe my eyes. She is just not only living in denial but slowly loosing her mind just to be with Damon. I love, love the part where Damon showed up for the first time in the cemetery. Wasn't expecting that. There and then I fell for DELENA again. She couldn't let go. She is holding him back and it pained to see her like that. And when she asked Ric to compel her and make her forget that she ever loved Damon...I literally had tears. The episode had everything I wanted. I would also want to mention this...the phone chat of Caroline with Stefan was touching. She said everything for everyone. I know Stefan hasn't moved on and still looking for something. I could somehow make that out from his expressions. Lets wait and see what's coming our way. But Bamon in the end had me baffled!!! 😕 Where the hell are they?? That definitely didn't look like other side or some supernatural purgatory. And the way they were...I mean making pancakes and all...having breakfast together. 😕 But, But HE LOOKED SMOKING HOT IN RED AND BLACK CHECKS!!! ☺️ 😆 *fans self*
