Rashmi,

I agree with your discussion with Abhay about the human side of the JA love story. 😊

@bold: Here I slightly disagree. Who is ordinary and who is extraordinary? Some people become legends while "full many a flower is born to blush unseen. And waste its fragrance on the desert air."

Every person finds his problems more daunting than those faced by his fellow humans. The person who tries to solve these ordinary, trivial problems in extraordinary ways is the one who become extraordinary himself.

If we really look at the problems faced by JJ, they are what we see and face even today. Childlessness, betrayal by close ones, jealousy, intrigue, grief, the need to constantly re-invent oneself to keep up with the times...Yes, the scale and the stakes vary. But the battles are the same. The necessity to turn spiritual and rise above the mundane for the sake of one's peace of mind and sanity is still as cogent as then.

We love them because they faced the same kind of problems as us and managed to rise above them and retain their nobility of character and lofty ideals. Which is what we all secretly desire we could accomplish too. Definitely, discovering the life story of JJ (or any other great personality from history) is a great learning experience to all of us. 😊

Very beautiful thoughts Radhika.
