Ok folks, so I have been quiet a few days while all this fan fighting going on. I was really open to all the couples at the start, so I did not take sides. But at this point the story is becoming ridiculous beyond belief and 2/3 couples do not WORK AT ALL! Even by 4Lions' standards which already starts right were logic ends 😆. I am sorry, but such is the case. We have long ago had the Kool-Aid, but even we have our limits. I am ON YOUR TEAM. Come on now, I drank that Kool Aid with IPK and tolerated genius idiot Shyam and brain-free Anjali. I am now at the Pakistani drama copy and grammatically incorrect "Humsafars!"🤣
My relationship is of a love-hate kind, just like your passionate couples. 😆 You build the passion and then give up on everything! What the hell!? So here's some long simmering criticism for 4Lions on every topic, esp. the couples in QH.
1. Just because Ekta throws in the old Angad-Kripa story with more generous helpings of regressive misogyny toward women to make a jambalaya, does not mean you should! Her serials work because she pours money on them, you are still struggling with financial troubles. So, at least work on the stories because you cannot dazzle with the glitz.
2. Speaking of troubles...V. Massey, he had every right to publically out you for unprofessionalism. No matter your troubles, 4Lions, it is not excusable to make an actor work and not pay him when he has been patient for A YEAR. It says more about YOU than him actually, and the fact that you called him out on outing you on Twitter says EVEN MORE about you.
3. Karanvir and Surbhi are acting out the most cheesy Titanic motions with sincerity, and we buy that passion because it has simmered for a while, but really put some more effort into the body language. Otherwise, as always, the passion is your best work.
4. A woman who cannot speak is already objectified enough as a speechless doll. Don't have a stupid, regressive Fayaz play frizbee with her between himself and his brother. I do not care that this is fictional and a drama. It is stupid and regressive. To think that Rahat agreed out of love for his brother is even more sick. Now I do not care if he suffers because he DOES NOT LOVE HER. Till now this story with no attachment to the main one only wasted our time, now it is investing in our hatred. STOP IT! Btw, Fayaz could not afford that house without Rahat, that was another idiocy. The military do no award a sauna wala mansion to its lower ranking lieutenant.
5. Razia picking flowers was good enough for most of Friday. Other than not being funny at all and a total filler, it is now getting tedious. I know Humsafars is keeping you busy, don't take on more than you can chew. You have a trend on giving up on the previous successful show as soon as you get a new one. This way, you will make an enemy of all the channels. I have seen you do it with Geet, IPK, and now Qubool. Either you are juicing the story with a villain doing fillers or you abandon a story because you get bored and never solve the actual story. We love QH, we love Aahil and Sanam's story, stop ruining it with extra characters like Fupi and wrong characterizations like Rehan.
6. Coming to the religious, goody, goody Rehan. We get that he is affection starved, but he would suffer a little qualm about Sunehri being from another religion. I would expect the same from Sunehri because she is always going on about her faith. You never showed that part and it is important. I say this as a propotent of inter-religious-caste-race-marriage and love. You have to show the struggle and overcoming. It has to be WORK. He can't just fall in love and perform the same romantic gestures with a girl he picked up from the street two days ago that Aahil does with his WIFE and girl of 6 months. That's not how love at first sight words. This is why people cannot stand Seehan, their story has not built itself. This is why the same Surbhi is loved as Sanam and rejected as Sunehri. Btw, Rehan would NEVER wear a see-through shirt for a dinner with the parents. Street smart Sunehri would never drink a random, out of season bhaag! Why do we know your characters better than you?
7. Nazia aur Shazia kya mar gayi hai? You keep introducing stupid characters that are neither here nor there. But you erased Aahil's ENTIRE family and the weird couple's little son. There was so much you could do with that, instead you chose to make the couple we already hate to watch have more drama with Fupi. What for? How many parallel leads is too many? Hint: 2!!!!!!!!!!!!! Speaking of missing characters, where the hell is Aahil's Bari Ammi? What kind of a man is a main lead if he cannot even remember he has sisters and a granny?
8. Why can Tanveer murder a big, hulking man while blind and still not leave any evidence? I mean, this is a freaking Nawab, there would be investigations, esp when it happens in the same house. Why did she redo the whole house and leave Zoya's room untouched? You know what happens to pizza in 20 years? You CANNOT SMELL IS LIKE SANAM DID. Why did Zoya take off her necklace before being killed? Was that prep? 😆😆
9. I still watch this show for the love story, you can deliver the cute scenes and passion but everything else needs to be skipped, that is not a whole drama. You are missing something major here.
10. Coming to Humsafars which takes its name from one of Fawad's dramas and the story from the other. Zidegi Gulzar Hai, sorry, I mean Humsafars has the most overacting side characters I have ever seen in your serials. You also did not bother to give the middle class girls education because that would require too much research, you just took the old Jassi Jaisi and IPK fashion house route. Are you the same people who chose that fantabulous Mamiji and Buaji in IPK? Is accusing a Muslim man of being a terrorist at the airport such hilarity that we are supposed to find the girl cute for doing that? Being Muslim or even Brown, Gul, you yourself think us NRIs will take it as a joke? You know what kind of a crime it is for anyone to just overhear nothing and accuse someone of a crime only to have name-dropping and egotistic classism save the day? Try being Sikh at JFK, get accused and you will find it hilarious.
Yes, I know you take it in stride. It is only just a drama for the masses like Ekta says, not women of Malbar Hills or NRIs like me. But no one is buying this. And stop underestimating the masses!
It is not pleasant to read all this, but I say this as someone who really enjoys your dramas at the end of the day. You guys gave me Arnav and Khushi, I am forever grateful for that. I want you not to go down the Ekta drain. So please, write GOOD stories. I want you to succeed v. the spawns of nepotism in Bollywood (ahem, Ekta). The reason you are in financial trouble has a lot of do with this scattering of mess that you keep creating with taking "inspirations" and making a good thing only to ruin it with super villains and useless parallels. Finally you are losing interest only to keep going as long as the channel let's you. I for one am shocked only this kind of effort provides such a cushy living, but that is another matter. Your writing and lack of consistency is not good business sense. That's why you have to keep channel hopping. For all your sakes, crew and actors, do better. Right now you are not even at 4 kittens, forget 4 lions, though kittens are cute like your leads are.😉
